Dengue infection tally crosses 2000-mark in Delhi
More than 1200 cases of dengue have been recorded in Delhi in the last month taking the disease infection tally beyond the 2,000- mark so far this year, according to a civic report issued on Monday.

Homoeopathy effective but Expert bodies like ICMR best Judge of medical protocol in pandemic: Delhi High Court
Dismissing a plea seeking directions allowing homeopathic treatment for mild COVID-19 cases, the Delhi High Court has held that expert bodies like the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are the best judges to decide and accord approval in respect of medical protocol.
"It is true that homoeopathic medicines are very effective and large number of people throughout the globe are availing homeopathic treatment, but in cases of pandemic, which protocol has to be validated by the government should always be left to the discretion of the government. Decision of the government in such scenarios is based upon expert opinions and the experts are certainly the masters of the field," a bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad said.

No plans to pursue bill on violence against doctors: Health Ministry in RTI reply
While responding to a Rights to Information (RTI) query, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has reiterated that it is not working on any draft legislation bill addressing the issues regarding violence against healthcare practitioners.
The RTI query was raised by Kannur-based ophthalmologist Dr. KV Babu, who sought to know from the Ministry whether it had any plans for pursuing the draft legislation 'The Healthcare Service Personnel and Clinical Establishments (prohibition of violence and damage to property) Bill, 2019.
The clarification from the Health Ministry comes at a time when the Supreme Court is considering a plea referring to the rising number of assaults against doctors and other medical professionals in the country.

Karnataka Increases In-Service Reservation From 15 To 20%
Soon after the Karnataka High Court quashed the Government order that had reduced the In-service reservation for PG medical admission, now the State Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has increased the reservation for In-service doctors from 15% to 20% for the academic year 2022-2023.
Therefore, instead of 206 PG medical seats, now 279 seats are reserved for the In-service doctors seeking admission to PG medical courses in Karnataka.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the In-service PG medical aspirants had approached the HC seeking an increase in the number of reserved seats. While considering the matter, the HC bench had passed an interim order and stayed the NEET PG Counselling process in Karnataka. As a result, Karnataka Examinations Authority had stopped the counselling process.
