AIIMS Nagpur becomes first AIIMS to get NABH Accreditation
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur has become the first of all AIIMS to receive the prestigious NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) accreditation, which is at par with the world's leading hospital accreditation standards.
AIIMS Nagpur is among the four AIIMS announced during the budget speech 2014-15 under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). The Foundation stone for the institute was laid by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis at Sector 20, MIHAN on 14th April 2017.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital doctors have successfully performed the rare surgery on a fifty-one-year-old patient suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The patient has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for nine years.

Poor stipend in private medical colleges: NMC receives around 29k responses from MBBS, PG medicos, reveals RTI
Around 28,800 MBBS interns and Postgraduate students in self-financed medical colleges have participated in the online survey conducted by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and submitted their responses regarding the amount of stipend paid to them.
The information in this regard has been revealed by the Apex medical commission, in response to a Right to Information (RTI) application filed by Kannur-based Health Activist Dr. Babu KV.

Child's death during hernia surgery: HC refuses to quash IPC 304 against caretaker of hospital
Responding to a petition filed by a doctor who was challenging an FIR against him under IPC 304, the Allahabad HC has refused to give him relief.
The concerned petitioner, who claimed to be the caretaker of a private hospital in Varanasi and got booked under IPC 304 for diagnosing Hernia in a patient and advising surgery which was performed without proper consent by the treating doctors at the hospital.
