NEET PG 2022 counselling rescheduled

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the DGHS has rescheduled the NEET PG 2022 counselling that was about to commence on September 1st. While this move could mean yet another snag on the NEET PG counselling process, the candidates will have more seats for grabs this academic session.

As per the notification issued to this effect by the MCC on its website, the AIQ counselling body has taken the decision considering that the National Medical Commission (NMC) is still in the process of issuing new Letters of Permission, LoP's to the medical colleges for this academic year. Thus, the MCC has rescheduled the NEET PG counselling so more MD, MS or PG Diploma seats can be added to the seat matrix accordingly.

Cannot put students In Jeopardy: Supreme Court refuses to postpone NEET PG 2022 counselling

Stating that the students cannot be put in jeopardy, the Supreme Court on Monday has decided that the counselling schedule for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2022 Examination shall not be changed.

Denying to interfere with the counselling, which is scheduled to commence from September 1, the top court bench comprising of Justices DY Chandrachud and Hima Kohli noted, "we cannot put the students in jeopardy".

Case against doctor couple in MP after health scheme beneficiaries found in hotel instead of hospital

A doctor couple in Madhya Pradesh was charged with cheating and forgery after 70 patients covered under the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana were found admitted in a hotel instead of an adjoining hospital.

Local police and health department officials had on Friday conducted a raid during which the 70 Ayushman Bharat cardholders of the health scheme were found in Hotel Vega, while as per records, they were admitted to the Central India Kidney Hospital for treatment, the officials said.

Doctor held for allegedly supplying drugs to Ferozepur Jail Inmates

A doctor posted at the Ferozepur central prison was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Punjab police from his residence for distributing illegally banned drugs to the inmates.

The doctor has been identified as Dr. Shashi Bhushan, a resident of Ferozepur city. He was posted at the central jail hospital since November 2021 and would secretly distribute banned narcotics to the inmates while providing treatment to them. It was revealed that he also charged a price for the substances.
