NEET PG 2025 Aspirants Data Allegedly Sold Online: What We Know
After lots of confusion, protests from aspirants and legal battle, the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 examination was finally conducted on August 03, 2025.
However, even the post-exam phase was not smooth for the aspirants, as the counselling was delayed and allegations were made about the student data being sold to agents and counsellors.
Several media channels had reported on these allegations of data breach, and aspirants had also raised the matter on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).

Delhi Medical Colleges Fail to Submit Reports on Anti-Drug Drive: RTI reveals compliance gap
In a shocking revelation, information obtained through the Right to Information application has revealed that none of the 10 medical colleges in Delhi have submitted the mandatory action-taken (ATRs) reports under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. Across the country, only 49 medical institutes have filed the compliance report.
The Union Ministries of Social Justice & Empowerment and Education launched the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan programme in August 2024. It requires medical colleges to set up Nasha Mukt Hostel Committees, conduct counselling and awareness programmes, identify at-risk students, monitor hostels for early signs of substance use etc. The medical colleges are required to submit quarterly reports to the regulator.

PM Modi Warns Against Antibiotic Resistance Amid Rising Misuse
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to avoid taking antibiotics without medical advice, expressing concern over the growing threat of antibiotic resistance.
Citing a recent report by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), PM Modi said antibiotics are increasingly failing to work against common illnesses such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections (UTIs), news agency PTI reported.

Doctors Slam Andhra Pradesh's Move Allowing Trained Ayurvedic Doctors to Perform Surgeries
The doctors have strongly condemned the Andhra Government's decision to allow approved, trained Ayurvedic practitioners to perform surgeries independently.
Calling the move misleading and against scientific principles, the Andhra Pradesh branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has warned that this decision would put patient safety at risk.
