Women who used chemical hair straightening products were at higher risk for uterine cancer compared to women who did not report using these products, according to a new study from the National Institutes of Health. Warning the medical aspirants about a fake notice, the National Medical Commission has recently issued clarification regarding the recognition of Avicenna International Medical University, Kyrgyzstan.
Referring to the fake claim about the recognition of the concerned medical institute, the Apex Medical Commission in a recent notice mentioned, "This is to inform all that a fake letter having Ref. No. NMC (RTI)/ 2021/ 27-Regn./140719 dated 16.09.2022 stating that "Avicenna International Medical University (Bishkek) is recognized by National Medical Commission and Indian students can study here to become a doctor" is in circulation under the signature of Secretary, NMC and Under Secretary, NMC."

Govt to add non clinical tests to assess efficacy, safety of new drug
Through a recent notification, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has issued a draft of certain rules suggesting to include the non-clinical testing methods to assess the safety and efficacy of a new drug or investigational new drug.
The non-clinical testing techniques specified in the draft to assess the efficacy and safety of a new drug or investigational new drug include animal studies, organ chips, micro physiological systems, advanced computer modelling, and cell-based assays.

Man slips into coma, undergoes 30 surgeries, amputations after a mosquito bite
Experts in Germany have recently warned about the spread of the Asian tiger mosquito in the Rhein-Main region. A 27-year-old man has experienced various medical issues at the same time including having to go through over 30 operations after being bitten by an Asian tiger mosquito in Germany.
"Sebastian Rotschke, 27, was admitted to an intensive care unit and spent four weeks in a coma after he was bitten by an Asian tiger mosquito," Daily Star reported.
