2 kg fetus removed from 7-month-old boy's stomach in UP's Prayagraj
A case of foetus in foetus (FIF), a rare congenital anomaly, was reported at SN Children's Hospital, where a seven-month-old boy was found carrying a foetus of an equal age inside his stomach.
However, doctors performed a complex surgery to remove the foetus, which had developed a head, hair, both arms and legs.

QCI To Rate and Assess Medical Colleges For NMC, Charge Rs 1 Lakh Per College
New Delhi: Following the announcement that medical colleges will have to undergo assessment for rating, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has now published its agreement with the Quality Council of India (QCI) on its portal for everyone to check out. Among the several objectives specified in the MoU, the roles and responsibilities of QCI in the assessment and rating of medical colleges have been clearly mentioned in the document.
According to the MoU, the Council will develop and maintain a comprehensive framework for the assessment and rating of medical colleges. It will also have the responsibility of developing, customizing, and maintaining the IT platform, conducting assessments, evaluations, on-site visits to medical colleges etc.
MBBS seats of medical colleges that received late LOPs will be included in Round 2 NEET Counselling: MCC
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed that the seats of the medical colleges that received LOP late for MBBS courses will be included in round 2 of NEET Counselling.
Confirmation of this was made through a notice issued on the official website of MCC. The notice read, “It is to inform that some Government/Private Colleges who received LOP late for undergraduate courses, i.e, after the start of Round-1 of UG Counselling 2023, could not contribute their seats on the MCC portal for Round-1 of counseling. The seats of such colleges will be taken up by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS in Round-2 of UG Counselling 2023.”

NMC withdraws temporary suspension of recognition to 150 MBBS seats at GMC Alappuzha
In a major relief to the medical aspirants, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to withdraw its earlier decision of temporarily suspend admission to 150 MBBS seats at the Alappuzha Government Medical College.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed this on Thursday and she further informed that the all-India quota seats of the GMC Alappuzha have been included in the seat matrix of NMC and further measures have also been taken to start the process of admission in the State quota seats.
