NCDRC exonerates surgeon, hospital from negligence for conducting C-Section without anesthetist
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently exonerated an Allahabad-based hospital and its surgeon from charges of medical negligence while performing Lower Segment Caesarian Section (LSCS) operation on a patient for the delivery of her child.
It was alleged by the husband of the patient that the doctor and the hospital were negligent since they conducted the operation without the presence of any Anesthetist.

Karnataka reforms panel suggests complete ban on private practice of doctors
Taking note of the fact that a large number of government doctors are involved in private practice after their duty hours, the Karnataka Administrative Reforms Commission -2 (KARC-2) has suggested the State for enforcing a complete ban on private practice of government doctors of all departments.
The panel opined that with the ban on private practice, the government hospitals may become able to start Out Patient Department (OPD) in the evening as well.

ICMR invites application for centenary post doctoral fellowship
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited applications for ICMR Centenary-Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) from the fresh PhD/MD/MS within three years of completing their PhD/MD/MS degree (awarded) as the last date of the application and also those who have received their provisional PhD/MD/MS degree.
The results of ICMR-PDF 25th Batch and 26th Batch and the list of ongoing ICMR-Centenary PDF as of 30th September 2029 were also released.
