7 Days AYUSH internship to stay for MBBS students
MBBS students will have to undergo mandatory internship training in AYUSH, Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy and Sowa Rigpa, along with their other postings, according to the recently released Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship Regulations, 2021 by the National Medical Commission.
Earlier, the NMC had released draft guidelines on MBBS internship proposing a portion of the internship in areas of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Homeopathy, Siddha and Sowa-Rigpa as a part of options where an MBBS medico can intern.

Omicron: Parliamentary panel recommends Evaluation of vaccines more research for booster dose
As with the emergence of a new Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, speculations are being made about the possibility of a new wave of the pandemic, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health, has recently recommended that evaluation of the efficacy of COVID vaccines is necessary and more research on the part on the part of the Government is required for examining the need for booster doses for containing the new strain of the virus.
While presenting its report before the Parliament on Friday, the panel referred to the growing concerns regarding the new strain developing immunoescape mechanism and opined the need for critically addressing the issue.

Drug Safety Alert: IPC flags adverse reactions linked to Diclofenac
The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), through its recently issued drug safety alert for the month of November, has revealed that Diclofenac is associated with Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) named Skin hyperpigmentation.
This came after preliminary analysis of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) from the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) database.
