Man slits MBBS student's neck for refusing to marry him in Andhra's Guntur
In a horrifying incident, a software engineer allegedly killed a third-year MBBS student of a private medical college in Vijaywada by slitting her throat with a surgical knife and then attempted suicide after she refused to marry him.
The incident took place in Takkellapadu in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh on December 5.

According to a new World Bank report, India could soon become one of the world's first places to experience heat waves that break the human survivability limit. The report has also warned that rising heat across India can jeopardize economic productivity.
NMC pulls up medical colleges on nursing staff requirements, directs strict adherence to Indian Nursing Council Norms
Noting non-compliance in adhering to the norms laid down by the Indian Nursing Council for adequacy of staff at medical establishments, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has strictly directed all medical institutes to follow the mandated rules for nursing staff requirements.
Issuing a notice to all medical colleges established with the approval of the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI), now National Medical Commission, Samir Sinha, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, has asked all medical colleges to adhere to the norms laid down for staff requirements as per earlier NMC notification and Indian Nursing Council (INC).

FMGs protest against NMC rule insisting on 2-year CRMI from recognized institutes
The Foreign Medical Graduates wishing to continue their medical practice in India are facing uncertainty about their career and the possible loss of year with the National Medical Commission (NMC) insisting on two-years internship only from approved institutes.
Since NMC made the list of approved institutes public on October 21, 2022, the medical graduates from abroad who were already enrolled in the compulsory internship programme last year stand to lose one whole year out of their career. This is because the institutes where the FMGs got enrolled for Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship (CRMI) Programmes, have now been termed invalid by the Apex medical commission.
