Health Perspective: Should NMC takeover the conduct of NEET UG exam? - Video
Overview
National Medical Commission recently issued a circular and sought comments on draft of the National Medical Commission (Graduate Medical Education) Regulations of Undergraduate Medical Education Board, 2023
One key feature of the draft includes a point on conduction of NEET exam and states that :" Either the National Medical Commission may conduct the NEET-UG or may designate any such agency or authority by whatever name called, to cause the NEET-UG to be conducted."
Provided National Medical commission may designate multiple agencies or authorities, to conduct NEET-uG if such deployment suits the purpose."
To debate, this new proposed trend being set by NMC the doctor’s community is divided into two, the general community and the aspirants. One says it is a good move and another says it is not good because NMC is not able to conduct such an exam first pointing out to various problems in the conduct of the NEET PG exam which is done by NBE and noting that students appearing in the exam are very less as compared to NEET undergraduate exam.
In order to discuss this topic in-depth, Dr. Ravi Kant a professor of Surgery at Sharda University, and Dr. K M Abul Hasan, a pediatric and laparoscopic surgeon, join us for today's health perspective episode.
