Mandatory Ayurveda Courses at MBBS Colleges In Haryana: Move to Integrated Medicine or Mixopathy? - Video

Overview
Recently Health Minister of Haryana Anil Vij revealed that the state government intends to require one year of ayurvedic study of all students choosing the MBBS programme. Experts are worried about the impact this will have on the educational system and the health care system and promote mixopathy.
Joining us in Today's Episode of Health Perspective is Dr. Rajesh Kataria (MBBS, PGIMS ROHTAK), Senior Vice President of Haryana IMA 2023, Dr. Rajan Sharma, a renowned orthopaedic surgeon from Yamuna Nagar who has served the IMA in a number of capacities, Dr. Karan Juneja, a physician and social activist who serves as chairman of IMA Haryana, and Dr. Pankaj Vats, a former director of DHS Haryana.

Dr. Rohan Krishnan is a National Chairman & Co-Founder FAIMA Doctors Association. He is a well-known medico-social activist and leader of youth doctors and holds many positions in various organizations. He has served as President of Resident Doctors Assoc. , Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, National President, FAIMA doctors Association, Chairman Anti Harassment Cell of FORDA doctors Association, President of Students union, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He is presently also serving as Branch President of the Indian Medical Association, Central Council Member, IMA HQ, Orthopaedic Surgeon Maulana Azad Medical College & LNJP Hospital. Academically he is a Hons in MBBS and a university topper at Delhi University. He has more than 25 paper publications under his name and has served as a key speaker at various National and International conference.
Dr. Rajesh Kataria ( MBBS, PGIMS ROHTAK ) is Family Physician in Gurgaon. In his area, he has approximately 30 years of experience. Dr. Kataria is the director of Gurgaon's Sneh Hospital, a 35-bed multispecialty hospital. He has served for two and a half years as President of the Gurgaon Nursing Home & Diagnostic Association and Senior Vice President of Haryana IMA 2023.
Dr. Rajan Sharma ( MBBS,M.S. Ortho with 27 years experience ) is a renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon from Yamuna Nagar (Haryana). Since joining the IMA in 1999, Dr. Sharma has served the organization in a variety of capacities, including as a member of the IMA CWC, president of the IMA Jagadhri-Yamunanagar Branch in 2006-07, and president of the Haryana State Branch for more than two years, from 2011 to March 2013. He was successful in reviving the state IMA and assisting it in reaching new heights while serving as president. He had been a part of IMA-CWC for a long time. He oversaw the IMA AKN Sinha Institute of Medical Sciences as its director. In 2016, he belonged to IMA HBI. He is the North Zone's Beti Bachao Program Coordinator. He began taking proactive actions to improve how the IMA Haryana State Branch operated starting in 1999. In addition to practicing medicine, he engages in a variety of social activities. Currently, he is the director of Rajan Hospital & Dr. JP Sharma Memorial School and College of Nursing. He currently manages a nursing college (Dr. J.P. Sharma Memorial College of Nursing) Yamuna Nagar and a 30-bed Rajan Hospital.
Dr Karan Juneja (MBBS, MHA Gold Medalist) is a Medico Social Activist, Chief Advisor of FAIMA India, CEO Suvidha Healthcare, Member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) JDN standing committee, and chairman of IMA Junior doctors network Haryana.
Dr. Pankaj Vats M.D. AIIMS Delhi Forensic Medicine, LL.B (Hon's) Medico-legal Consultant, Toxicologist & Forensic Expert, Senior Consultant on PNDT, MTP, CEA, Consumer Protection Acts, and All Medical Laws. Former District Appropriate Authority–cum-Civil Surgeon, Formerly also worked as Director Health Services (Family Welfare) -cum- Member, State Supervisory Board, Haryana under PC & PNDT Act. Dr. Vats held posts & positions and earned experience in various fields, including the medical officer in PHC, CHC, Civil Hospital, District T.B. Centre, Casualty Medical Officer in District Hospital, Senior Medical Officer in Community Health Centre, Civil Hospital, and Principal Medical Officer and Head of the institution of 200-250 bedded hospital. He has prepared thousands of MLR reports, conducted several thousand post-mortems, and attended hundreds of courts at various levels as a medico-legal expert.
