866 Hospitals in Uttar Pradesh Face Action Over Ayushman Bharat Irregularities - Video

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken action against 866 hospitals linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme between 2020 and 2026 over alleged treatment-related lapses, violations of prescribed standards and financial irregularities, according to an official statement.

The action includes removing 648 hospitals from the Ayushman Bharat network, suspending 61 facilities and withdrawing specific medical specialities from 17 hospitals. Authorities have also imposed penalties of more than Rs 8.53 crore on 140 hospitals during the last two financial years, of which over Rs 4.37 crore has been recovered.
