Bombay HC Seeks Clarity on Govt Action Against Illegal Pathology Labs, Inaccurate Diagnostic Reports - Video

Concerned that inaccurate diagnostic reports could seriously jeopardise patient health, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court recently asked the Maharashtra Government to clarify the regulatory framework and enforcement mechanisms to address illegal pathology laboratories.
The HC Division bench comprising Justices Anil Kilor and Rajnish Vyas has asked the State Government to explain the rules and procedure to identify laboratories operating in violation of prescribed norms, along with the action that can be taken against them, in a detailed affidavit within a week, TOI has reported.
These directions were issued by the High Court while considering a criminal PIL filed by a social worker based in Yavatmal against the illegal pathology laboratories operating across the State of Maharashtra.
