IAS Officer Poses as Patient, Finds expired medicines at Firozabad health centre
In a move aimed at addressing the grievances of the patients, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer conducted a surprise inspection at a government health centre in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Donning a veil and posing as a patient, the officer, identified as Kriti Raj, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of the area inspected the operations of the health facility.

Health Ministry releases National Dental Commission Rules 2024, Check out Gazette details
After enacting the National Dental Commission Act, 2023, the Dental Education Section of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has published the National Dental Commission Rules, 2024 in the Official Gazette.
Specifying the manner of appointment of the members and other office bearers of the Commission, these rules have come into force on the date of publication in the official Gazette i.e. 13.03.2024.

Medical colleges mandated to submit family adoption program village details on NMC portal
The medical colleges, running MBBS courses, will now have to submit the details of the villages adopted under the Family Adoption Program on the National Medical Commission's (NMC) portal.
Confirmation regarding this was provided by the Apex medical education regulatory body in the recently held online meeting on 12.03.2024.

Petition challenges GOI ICU guidelines empowering medical professionals to end lives
Calling the guidelines for Intensive Care Unit Admission and Discharge Criteria, released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) unconstitutional and violative of the Supreme Court order, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Bombay High Court praying for the dismissal of the same.
Agreeing to consider the plea, the Bombay High Court bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Arif S. has issued notice to the Union Health Ministry and the Central Government. The matter has been listed for further hearing on April 23, 2024.
