Overview
Heman Bekele, a 14-year-old ninth grader at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia, has developed an innovative treatment for skin cancer as part of the 3M Young Scientist Challenge. His creation, known as Melanoma Treating Soap, not only secured him first place in the competition but also earned him the grand prize of $25,000 in St. Paul.
