Medical council warning: Telangana doctors directed not to display unrecognized qualifications, council to choose a vigilance officer - Video
Overview
Taking cognisance of the complaints against allopathy doctors in the State practising with medical degrees or diplomas without valid recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) has issued a warning to the doctors.
Advising the doctors not to display any unrecognized degrees or qualifications, the State Medical Council of Telangana recently directed them, "It is hereby advised to all the registered medical practitioners of modern scientific medicine that not to display any degree/qualification which is not recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/ National Medical Commission (NMC) and not registered by the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC)."
"Any doctor if he/she claims to be a specialist/super specialist in any branch without the specialty qualification in that branch and did not got registered in TSMC is illegal and unethical. Please make a note that violation of the above will amounts to disciplinary/ penal action," the Council further mentioned.
