NEET 2026 Cut-Off for Government Colleges: Expected Trends and Scores - Video
Overview
A day after NEET UG 2026 was conducted on May 3, focus has now shifted from exam pressure to cut-offs, results, and admission prospects for over 22.79 lakh aspirants. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, the country’s largest medical entrance test determines eligibility for MBBS and BDS courses nationwide.
Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying percentile-50th for General/EWS and 40th for OBC, SC, and ST categories-to pass, with official cut-offs to be announced along with the results, according to Careers360.
Admission, however, will depend on ranks secured during counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee. Top institutions such as All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Maulana Azad Medical College, and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research are expected to maintain high closing ranks. Based on previous trends, experts suggest that scores above 650 offer strong chances for premier government colleges, while 600+ remains competitive for many. Final cut-offs will depend on factors such as exam difficulty, seat availability, and overall performance this year.
