NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Removes Round 1 Choice Filling Notice After Announcement - Video

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) briefly issued a notice stating that Round 1 choice filling for NEET UG Counselling 2026 had been postponed. According to the now-withdrawn notice, the process, originally scheduled to begin on August 6, was to start at 12 noon on August 8. The committee said the decision was linked to a National Medical Commission (NMC) notification regarding revised assessment guidelines for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates seeking MBBS admission. The addendum updated provisions issued on July 27 to align with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities' memorandum. However, the notice was later removed from the MCC website without any explanation, creating confusion among candidates awaiting the counselling process.

As of now, MCC has not issued any fresh clarification regarding the postponement, and the original counselling schedule remains uncertain. Candidates have been advised to regularly monitor the official MCC website for updated notifications. During the choice filling process, eligible candidates select and arrange their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses in order of preference. Seat allotment is then carried out based on NEET UG rank, reservation category, seat availability and the preferences submitted by candidates. Applicants can modify and lock their choices before the specified deadline, according to a TOI report.
