Dentists advise on quitting smoking is beneficial
Overview
Dentists and smokers seem to have a better understanding in helping to quit smoking. Dental specialists have been appointed to help patients quit smoking. However, the evidence for its effectiveness in the general public in the United States is limited. The authors examined the correlation between smoking cessation advice from dental professionals and the behavior of adult smokers in general.
The authors reported it from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were they concluded upon receiving smoking-cessation advice from a dental care professional they were associated with more attempts to quit smoking but not with abstinence of 6 months or longer.
