Covishield and Covaxin combo provides greater immunity
Combination of two different vaccines Covishield and Covaxin jab lift up immunity better than same dose plan, reported a new ICMR study. The study has been published in the latest issue of the Journal of Travel Medicine.
The said study further stated that the reactogenicity profile of the participants who received the two different vaccines (heterologous) showed that a combination of the two vaccines derived from different platforms turned out to be safe as well.

Resistance exercise may be superior to aerobic exercise for getting better sleep
Resistance exercise may be superior to aerobic exercise as a way to get better sleep, and sleep is important for cardiovascular health, according to preliminary research to be presented at the American Heart Association's Epidemiology, Prevention, Lifestyle & Cardiometabolic Health Conference 2022. The meeting will be held in-person in Chicago and virtually Tuesday, March 1 – Friday, March 4, 2022, and offers the latest in population-based science related to the promotion of cardiovascular health and the prevention of heart disease and stroke.

Mothers Health issues to lead congenital deformity in new-born
Congenital deformities are strongly linked to parents genetic makeup and mothers health condition according to a study conducted by King George Medical College. Out of 7000 deliveries 94 hadcongenital deformities i.e 1.3%. researchers said that the common congenital deformities among new-borns were clubfoot, cleft palate, spina bifida (a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord are not properly formed) and even heart defects. Factors such as marriages within same (extended) families, diabetes, hypertension, gestational diabetes and uncontrolled sugar levels among mothers have been linked to congenital deformities.
Handheld ECG Might Help to Diagnose Atrial Fibrillation in Elderly Patients
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a leading cause of stroke. Oral anticoagulation is effective for preventing strokes in patients with AF. However, AF may be asymptomatic and first diagnosed at the time of stroke. Screening may enable earlier diagnosis of AF and implementation of oral anticoagulation to prevent strokes.
In a recent study, researchers have reported that the use of handheld single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) did not increase diagnoses of AF overall in patients aged 65 and older. The study findings were published in the journal Circulation on March 02, 2022.

Metabolic syndrome risks easily evaluated by triglycerides and glucose index
The study from Research square has to be peer reviewed aimed to assess the association of metabolic syndrome with Triglycerides and glucose index and Triglycerides and glucose index related parameters. Study found that Triglycerides and glucose index -waist to height ratio might be a strong and independent predictor for metabolic syndrome in all participants. Triglycerides and glucose index - related markers that combine obesity markers with Triglycerides are superior to other parameters in identifying metabolic syndrome in both genders.
