Heart function recovers quickly in children with COVID-19-related Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome condition
Covid- 19 complications tare far dangerous than expected with rising fatality. Heart function recovery returned within three months in children who developed COVID-19-related multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), according to new research published today in the Journal of the American Heart Association, an open access, peer-reviewed journal of the American Heart Association.
MIS-C is a new illness identified during the COVID-19 pandemic that affects children about four to six weeks after exposure to COVID-19. The new condition has some overlapping symptoms with Kawasaki disease, however, MIS-C is associated with more profound inflammation. MIS-C can cause inflammation in different parts of the body, including the heart, lungs, kidneys and gastrointestinal organs. About 80%-85% of MIS-C cases across the U.S. and Europe have involved the heart's left ventricle.

Herbal medications effective for treating nipple pain and fissures in breastfeeding women
Herbal medications are used in Asian countries as home remedies or alternative medicine. Results from a systematic study reveal that herbal and non-herbal remedies may be more effective in relieving nipple pain and healing fissures. Further, natural treatment with breast milk was shown to cure nipple damage, but it took a long time for healing than other treatments. The study appears in the journal Advances in Integrative Medicine.
Nipple fissure is known to be an important factor that causes early cessation of breastfeeding. Untreated nipple fissures leads to several problems including bleeding, severe pain, mastitis, inadequate milk excretion, and nipple abscess. Herbal and non-herbal preparations have been suggested to reduce nipple pain and fissure.

Magnesium essential for immune system, including in the fight against cancer
Minerals are critical entities for maintaining a balanced healthy lifestyle. The level of magnesium in the blood is an important factor in the immune system's ability to tackle pathogens and cancer cells. Writing in the journal Cell, researchers from the University of Basel and University Hospital Basel have reported that T cells need a sufficient quantity of magnesium in order to operate efficiently. Their findings may have important implications for cancer patients.
Previous studies have shown that cancerous growths spread faster in the bodies of mice when the animals received a low-magnesium diet – and that their defense against flu viruses was also impaired. However, there has so far been little research into how exactly this mineral affects the immune system.

Long-term use of blood pressure drugs may cause kidney damage
Over half the world's population suffers with blood pressure and its problem. Blood pressure medications are been prescribed all over however the side effects of these medications are yet to be evaluated.
New kidney research from the University of Virginia School of Medicine is raising concerns that long-term use of drugs commonly prescribed to treat high-blood pressure and heart failure could be contributing to kidney damage.
Patients should continue taking the medications, which include the well-known and widely used ACE inhibitors, the researchers say. But the scientists are urging studies to better understand the drugs' long-term effects.
