A recent study investigating the relationship between free sugar intake in early childhood and dental caries at age four to six years was presented by at the 100th General Session and Exhibition of the IADR, where free sugar consumption was measured in children enrolled in the Barwon Infant Study at age 18-months and 4-years.

Perinatal mood disorders such as postnatal depression and perinatal anxiety, may affect both mothers and fathers simultaneously.as per a new systematic review and meta-analysis.
Previous studies show that a history of mood disorders increase the possibility of developing a common mental disorder in parents.

COVID-19 patients at high risk of nerve disorders
A new study, found that those who had tested positive for COVID-19 were at an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and ischaemic stroke.
Out of the 9 lac individuals that tested for COVID-19 within the study, researchers found that the 43,375 people who tested positive had a 3.5 times increased risk of being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, 2.6 times with Parkinson's disease, 2.7 times with ischaemic stroke and a 4.8 times increased with intracerebral haemorrhage (bleeding in the brain).

Machine learning predicts oral cancer risk
According to a recent study, visual oral examination (VOE) was performed among 1467 participants of a community-based screening program. Each individual's status was defined as positive/negative for oral cancer and histologic confirmation of epithelial dysplasia (ED) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) was performed for positive status.
