NMC slams medical colleges on teachers vacancies
Overview
Taking serious cognizance of the medical colleges applying for MBBS, PG medical as well as Super-specialization courses without meeting the basic requirements in terms of number of teachers as well as their qualifications, the apex medical regulator, National Medical Commission (NMC) has now written to the medical colleges across the country, asking them to set their house in order.
The National Medical Commission said the government has viewed "seriously" the issue of vacancies in public medical colleges and institutes, and the matter would be taken up in a meeting of chief secretaries with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
