Overview
Women of childbearing potential have a high prevalence of venous thromboembolism due to high estrogen states, such as pregnancy and the use of estrogen-containing contraceptives. Its a serious concern and needs management to prevent labour mortality rate.
Abnormal uterine bleeding affects up to two-thirds of menstruating women on anticoagulation, and can severely impair a woman's quality of life reports a study in Thrombosis Update journal.
