|
Overview
Postpartum hemorrhage is characterized in woman with heavy bleeding after giving birth. It's a serious and a common condition. It usually happens within 1 day of giving birth, but it can happen up to 12 weeks after having a baby. Postpartum hemorrhage is said be the leading cause of a quarter of global maternal deaths. The World Health Organization also recommends oxytocin as the first line agent to prevent hemorrhage during cesarean delivery.
