Assessment of digital eye strain among kids using e-learning during COVID-19 - An IJO Study - Video
Overview
The All India Ophthalmological Society publishes the peer-reviewed, monthly print-on-demand compilation of issues known as the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications is the publisher. This journal published a paper in 2021. This article talks about a study that looked at children's digital eye strain.
The author of the study is Dr. Amit Mohan. Having worked at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai for more than 12 years, Dr. Amit Mohan has a specialty in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. He consults at the Global Hospital Institute of Ophthalmology and is in charge of Shri Adinath Fateh Global Eye Hospital in Jalore. His study on children's eye care has been published in more than 50 indexed journals on a national and international scale. The All India College of Ophthalmology awarded him a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology.
The purpose of this study is to identify the prevalence, frequency of symptoms, and risk factors for digital eye strain (DES) in children enrolled in online courses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The paper discusses "Digital eye strain among kids (DESK study 1): prevalence and risk factor assessment among children using online e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic."
Children have digital eye strain, as we discussed in one of our previous videos. The most frequent eye condition linked to extended use of digital devices is known as "digital eye strain". It is characterized by symptoms like headaches, dry eyes, itching, and a feeling of a foreign body in the eye.
