Do's and Don'ts for Chronic venous disease (CVD) patients - Dr Sushil Kumar Patil
Overview
Chronic venous disease (CVD) is a condition which is caused by the pulling of the blood in leg veins. Symptoms include pain, swelling, ulcerations etc., which are the clinical manifestation of chronic venous disease. Conservative methods and lifestyle modifications can manage mild to moderate CVD, while severe CVD patients need interventions. Patients can adopt the following ways to decrease the problems posed by CVD.
1. Drink Plenty of Water as hydration benefits veins already prone to insufficiency.
2. Wear Compression Stockings which help drive blood flow back to the heart by contracting muscles around the veins.
3. Elevate your legs throughout the day to improve circulation.
4. Eat Well and include fruits and veggies in your diet.
5. Low-impact workout increases the tightening of muscles around the veins.
In this video, Dr Sushil Kumar Patil, Vascular and Interventional Radiologist, will explain about Do’s and Don’ts for Chronic venous disease patients.
