Surgical procedures in management of venous insufficiency - Dr Vishal Sheth
Overview
Venous insufficiency is a condition in which the veins have problems sending blood from the legs back to the heart. Over time, CVI can cause pain, swelling, and skin changes in legs. It may also lead to open sores called ulcers on legs.
Several treatment options have been adopted over the years to treat painful venous insufficiency conditions. As the research progressed, many treatment options were added to the clinical armamentarium. The primary goals of treatment include
• Help blood flow better in veins.
• Help ulcers heal and limit their chances of coming back.
• Improve skin’s appearance.
• Reduce pain and swelling.
