Health Ministry Asks NMC to Review Uniform Stipend for MBBS Interns in Govt and Private Colleges - Video

The long-pending issue of stipend disparity between the MBBS interns at the Government and Private medical colleges may soon end as the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has directed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to examine the possibility of paying equal stipend to all the MBBS interns of a State or Union Territory.

Following a representation received from Health Activist Dr KV Babu, the Ministry wrote to the NMC Secretary and issued directions to pay an equal stipend as per the similar provisions under the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER), 2023.
