Through a recent order, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Department of Uttar Pradesh has placed a cap on the purchase and sale of various drugs which have addictive components into it. The same order also regulates sale of high intensity painkillers like those based on compounds like tramadol, pentazocine and buprenorphine along with anti-depressants like alprazolam, clonazepam, nitrazepam, diazepam in all strengths and combinations.
