New Delhi: Although there are hardly 10 days left for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) Examination 2022, the aspirants are not ready to give up and they have once again started approaching the Prime Minister of India directly via Twitter.

With no positive response from the authorities regarding the demands for postponing the exam, which is scheduled on July 17, the aspirants have now started seeking help from PM Modi directly.

They are now using the hashtag #PMOHelpNEETUGAspirants for seeking help from the Prime Minister. Some of the aspirants are even sharing some phone numbers on Twitter and asking others to call on those numbers, claiming the same to be of the Prime Minister.

Medical Dialogues had been reporting about the escalating demands from the NEET UG 2022 aspirants seeking deferment of the exam by one month. Earlier around 10,000 aspirants had written to National Testing Agency (NTA) requesting to postpone the exam and allocate them with enough time for preparation. Writing to the agency, the aspirants had pointed out how the counselling for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test 2021 was incomplete and the scheduled date for NEET on July 17 is almost clashing with the dates for CUET & JEE Mains.

In order to press for demands of deferring the exam, the aspirants wrote to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, initiated online petitions, used hashtags such as #postponeneetug2022, #JusticeforNeetStudents, #MODIJIdeferNEETUG to reach the authorities.

India Wide Parents Association and the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) supported their demands and urged the authorities to defer the exam by at least 40-45 days.

However, the Union Education Ministry recently confirmed that the NEET UG 2022 exam will not be rescheduled. Similar views had been expressed by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as well, when he was attending the India Today Conclave.

With no word regarding exam postponement from the authorities, the aspirants recently decided to initiate hunger strike. Some of the representatives of the aspirants reached the Prime Minister's office and demanded to meet PM Narendra Modi to express the grievances of the students.

Now taking to Twitter, the aspirants have once again started to urge the Prime Minister directly and request him to postpone the exam by using the hashtag #PMOHelpNEETUGAspirants.

Some of the aspirants have written an open letter to PM Modi. The letter stated, "Postponement of NEET UG was never a demand sir, it was a necessity, it was a request from all of us because our life, future and happiness depend on it."

"We tried to reach you in every possible way, we used every medium, platform possible to make you aware of our mental condition and why we needed the postponement. Sorry to say this sir but you all put a blind eye on it and just left us hopelessly suffer; and yes needless to say that many of our fellow aspirants killed themselves unable to take the pressure," the letter added.

Plzzz postpone NEETUG It's our humble request...🙏🙏🙏🙏#PMOHelpNEETUGAspirants #MODIJIextendNEETUG pic.twitter.com/O2DgepHwIn

In fact, some Twitter users have started sharing a number on the social media handle, claiming it to be of the Prime Minister. They have started urging everyone to call on that number and talk to the authorities.

Claiming justice, the aspirants have reminded that finishing 98 chapters within 90 days is not a matter of joke.

One Twitter user has claimed that the authorities have asked for Hard copy of the proof that session will be started at Feb 2023.

Just Had a conversation with Director Sir Devendra Kumar Sharma on demanding #NeetugAspirantsNow we need to submit Hard copy of the proof that session will be started at Feb 23I need two students from Delhi to visit ministry office. #PMOHelpNEETUGAspirants #MODIJIdeferNEETUG

— Pawan Bhadana (@erPawanBhadana) July 6, 2022

With all these assumptions, there is still no clarity if the students' pleas will be heard and the exam shall get deferred. Over 18.72 lakh candidates have registered for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, which is the centralized common entrance examination for admission into Undergraduate medical courses. The pan-India exam is scheduled to be held in 13 languages on July 17.
