Altogether 123700 MBBS seats available across India- NMC releases seat matrix, check complete details

New Delhi: The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the tentative MBBS seat matrix for the academic year 2025-2026.

As per the data released by the Apex Medical Commission, there are a total of 123700 MBBS seats available this year, including the 6850 MBBS seats that the NMC approved this year.

Last year, the Commission granted permission for 117750 MBBS seats. However, during the renewal process for the Academic Year 2025-2026, a total of 1056 seats were reduced.

NMC MARB released the UG seat matrix through a notice dated 13.09.2025. It mentioned, "In continuation of the approvals granted for renewal of existing UG (MBBS) seats for the Academic Year 2025–26, along with the additional seats sanctioned during the same period, the Final UG (MBBS) Seat Matrix for AY 2025–26 has been prepared. The Final Seat Matrix is hereby uploaded on the official website of the National Medical Commission for the information of all stakeholders."

Referring to the MARB notice, the NMC Secretary addressed the Dean/Principals of all medical institutes and all the parents and students participating in the NEET UG 2025 admissions, and mentioned in a public notice dated 15.09.2025, "Kind reference is invited to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board’s (MARB) Public Notice of even number dated 13-09-2025 w.r.t. tentative MBBS Seat Matrix as on 12-09-2025. All the concerned Medical Institutions, Parents, Student and other stakeholders are requested to take note of the same."

As per the data released by NMC, there are altogether 114 MBBS seats available at Andaman and Nicobar. In Andhra Pradesh, the total number of seats available this year is 6765. Further, there are 100 seats available in Arunachal Pradesh, 1875 seats in Assam, 3395 seats in Bihar, 150 seats in Chandigarh, 2305 seats in Chhattisgarh, 117 seats in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 1396 seats in Delhi, 200 seats in Goa, 7250 seats in Gujarat, 2435 seats in Haryana.

Further, 920 seats are available in Himachal Pradesh, 1675 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, 1205 seats in Jharkhand, 13394 seats in Karnataka, 5254 seats in Kerala, 5625 seats are available in Madhya Pradesh, 12524 seats in Maharashtra, 525 seats in Manipur, 200 seats in Meghalaya, 100 seats in Mizoram, 100 seats in Nagaland, 2975 seats in Odisha, 1873 seats in Puducherry, 1849 seats in Punjab, 6980 seats in Rajasthan, 150 seats in Sikkim, 12350 seats are in Tamil Nadu, 8990 seats are in Telangana, 400 seats in Tripura, 13075 seats are available in Uttar Pradesh, 1400 seats in Uttarakhand, and 5974 seats are available in West Bengal.
