AYUSH Admissions 2026: TN invites applications for BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS courses, last date July 31

Tamil Nadu: The Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (DIMH), Government of Tamil Nadu, has released the Prospectus for admission to BAMS, BUMS, BHMS and BSMS courses offered in Government Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Medical Colleges and Government quota seats in self-financing institutes for the 2026-27 academic session.

The admissions will be conducted based on the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) exam scores for the academic year 2026 through an online counselling process.

As per the prospectus, online applications have commenced from today, i.e. July 13, 2026, while the last date to submit applications is July 31, 2026 (5:00 PM). Eligible candidates can apply only through the official website. The rank list and counselling schedule will also be published on the same portal.

PROCEDURE FOR FILING AND SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

1 The Candidate should log in to the website to access the prospectus and Application form for AUSH Courses 2026-2027 session.

2 The Candidates are advised to take a printout of the Prospectus from the official website and read it carefully along with the Parent / Guardian before filling up the online application form for the academic year 2026-2027. The Candidate and the Parent/Guardian must ensure the Candidate's eligibility criteria before submitting the online application form. The Candidates are instructed to go through the Prospectus carefully and be clear about all the instructions with regard to the submission of the online application form.

3 The Candidate should pay the non-refundable Registration Fee for online application of Rs 500/-. Registration Fee for online application is exempted for Candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST.

4 The application forms will be available online from 13 July 2026 onwards till 31 July 2026 upto 5:00 P.M.

5 The candidate has to fill all the mandatory columns in the online application. All the relevant documents should be uploaded in PDF format. Candidates are instructed to submit the online application after filling up all the required fields.

6 Upload the Photo and Signature in JPEG format.

CERTIFICATES

Candidates are instructed to upload the following certificates while filling the online application form and submit-

1 NEET- UG 2026 Admit card and Score card.

2 Class X Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate) / Birth Certificate.

3 Class XI Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate).

4 H.S.C. Mark sheet (both sides of Mark Sheet) or any other equivalent examination.

5 Transfer certificate (both sides) obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent examination/ or any other Courses.

6 Candidates of other States need to upload a certificate of proof of study from VI Std. to XII Std. who have studied completely in Tamil Nadu.

7 Community Certificate (if applicable). viii. Nativity Certificate. ix. Documents of the parent need to be uploaded for the Candidate who claims their native as Tamil Nadu as follows: - •Community Certificate of either one of the Parents obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu (who claims communal reservation).

9 Front page of the Bank Pass Book or cancelled cheque leaf of the Candidate / Guardian (for refund purpose). xi. Special Category Form with relevant certificates for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Persons, Ex- Servicemen and Union Territories (Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands) as applicable, along with the online application form should be uploaded.

10 Bonafide Certificate from the Chief Educational Officer is mandatory for candidates who have studied VI Std. to XII Std. in Tamil Nadu Government Schools for 7.5% Special Reservation. (If they don’t have EMIS No.).

11 Valid Income Certificate of Parent for the Candidates claiming Fee exemption.

12 Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai for the Candidate of other Universities / Boards (except State Board, CBSE Board & ISCE Board).

13 Court orders (if any).

14 Additional supporting documents (if any).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidate should be a citizen of India. Foreign nationals are not eligible to apply for admission to AUSH Medical Degree Courses.

INELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The following categories of Candidates are not eligible to apply for B.S.M.S. / B.A.M.S. / B.U.M.S. / B.H.M.S. Courses-

1 Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination in Vocational Stream or Pre-University Course in Tamil Nadu.

2 The selection and admission of candidates other than those in clause 5 (iii) will be provisional subject to recognition of the qualifying examination by the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University under which the Candidate gets admitted. In case the recognition is not accorded for the admission of the Candidate on any grounds, the provisional admission will not entitle the Candidate for the continuance of the Course and the admission will be cancelled.

3 Candidates presently pursuing the B.S.M.S. / B.A.M.S. / B.U.M.S. / B.H.M.S. Courses are not eligible to apply for B.S.M.S. / B.A.M.S. / B.U.M.S. / B.H.M.S. Courses respectively, during this academic session.

4 Candidates are natives of other States and studied in other States.

5 Candidates declared ineligible by the AACCC website are not eligible for further Counselling after the date of announcement of ineligibility.

6 Candidates who were allotted a seat in Stray Rounds of the Previous Academic Year, 2025-26 Counselling are not eligible.

NATIVITY

1 Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.

2 Other State Candidates who have studied from VI Standard to XII Standard continuously in Tamil Nadu have to produce their School Bonafide Certificate from the School in which the Candidate studied VI Standard to XII Standard and will be considered under the Open Category.

AGE LIMIT

No Candidate shall be admitted to BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS Degree Course unless one has attained the age of Seventeen Years on or before the 31st December, 2026 of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate AYUSH Courses and there is no upper age limit.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

1 Admissions to all State Quota seats of Undergraduate Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy Courses will be done through NEET (UG) – 2026 as per the provisions of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Ayurveda Education), Regulations 2022, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Siddha Education), Regulations 2022 and National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Minimum Standards of Undergraduate Unani Education), Regulations 2022 and National Commission for Homoeopathy (Homoeopathy Graduate Degree Course – BHMS), Regulations 2022. NCISM (NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE) & NCH (NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR HOMOEOPATHY) are Regulatory Bodies of the above-mentioned Courses under the Ministry of AYUSH.

2 To be eligible for admission to BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS Degree Courses for this academic year, it shall be necessary for a Candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th Percentile in NEET UG-2026. However, in respect of Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyar), Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslim) and Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th Percentile in NEET UG-2026. In respect of Candidates with Benchmark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, the minimum marks shall be at the 45th Percentile for General Category Candidates and 40th Percentile for ST / SC / SCA / MBC / DNC / BCM and BC Candidates in NEET UG-2026.

3 Further, to be eligible for admission to BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS Degree Courses, Candidates must have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent Boards with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology / Biotechnology and English.

4 The Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology. The minimum Standards of UG regulations stand withdrawn for eligibility criteria for ASU Courses.

5 Candidates qualified in the NEET (UG) - 2026 and who have passed the qualifying examinations from National Institute of Open Schooling or State Open Schools or as private Candidates from recognised State Boards; or with Biology/ Biotechnology as an additional subject shall be allowed but subject to the outcome of Special Leave Petitions / Appeals filed by the Medical Council of India.
