DME Tamil Nadu Invites Online Application For Walk-In Counseling For BSMS, BAMS, BHMS Courses
Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) invites online applications for walk-in counselling for government-surrendered seats and management quota seats in Self-Financing IM&H Medical Colleges for admission to BSMS, BAMS and BHMS courses.
Per the notice, the candidates can submit the online application until 15.2.2023 up to 11:00 am. This counselling is for candidates who have secured NEET UG Marks of more than 117 for OC candidates and more than 93 for BC, BCM, MBC, DNC, SC, SCA & ST candidates.
The walk-in application with all necessary documents such as Higher Secondary Certificate, Community Certificate, NEET Score card of NEET UG 2022, and TC should be sent to the Selection Committee on or before the last date of application, and the candidates should come in person for the spot admission.
The candidates will have to pay the application fee of Rs 500 for government surrender seats, Rs 1000 for management quota seats and Rs 500 processing fee for counselling for government surrender seats and Rs 1000 for management quota seats by cash. For SC/ST candidates cost of the application fee is exempted.
The tentative vacancy positions will be uploaded on the official website on 12.02.2023. Candidates are declared ineligible by the All India Ayush Counseling Committee (AACCC) by Govt. of India from time to time. All candidates must apply for a new application form for admission to BSMS, BAMS and BHMS courses. No particular categories like Ex-Servicemen, Sports, Persons with disabilities, etc., are not included.
The candidates should be physically present with all original certificates for verification. If candidates are studying in College, a Bonafide certificate from that college should be submitted. The counselling will be conducted per the merit list for this counselling, and allotment will be made as per existing vacancies based on their turn and community vacancy as per rules and regulations of Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
Non-eligibility –
1. Candidates who have joined AYUSH courses in State Counseling by Selection Committee (Indian Medicine), Govt. of Tamil Nadu or All India Ayush Counseling Committee (AACCC) by Govt. of India are not eligible for counselling.
2. Candidates scoring lesser than the marks mentioned above.
3. Candidates declared ineligible by the All India Ayush Counseling Committee (AACCC) by the Govt. of India from time to time.
Eligibility criteria –
Government Surrendered Seats –
1. Candidate should be a citizen of India.
2. Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
3. Candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu studied from VI to XII Std. Either wholly or partly in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “Nativity Certificate”.
4. The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available (ANNEXURE IV) in the Prospectus and supported by a copy of the Passport / Aadhar Card / Ration Card / Birth Certificate. The application form will be rejected if a copy of the supporting document is not produced. Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
5. Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
6. Permanent Residence Certificates will not be accepted.
7. Foreign Nationals might have studied from 6th standard onwards or in a college in Tamil Nadu, but they are NOT eligible to apply for admission to BSMS/ BAMS/ BHMS courses 2022-23 session.
8. Other State candidates who have continuously studied from VI Standard to XII Standard in Tamil Nadu will be deemed natives of Tamil Nadu and will be considered under the Open Category.
9. Community certificates obtained from other States will not be considered for reservation, and such candidates will be treated as an open category.
10. The candidates must be 17 years of age.
11. Admission to BSMS / BAMS / BHMS Degree courses for this academic year shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG-2022) conducted by NTA.
Management quota seats –
1. Candidate should be a citizen of India.
2. Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete that age on or before 31st December 2022, and there is no upper age limit.
3. The eligibility for admission to BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS Degree courses for this academic year shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG-2022) conducted by NTA.
4. To be eligible for admission to BSMS / BAMS / BHMS Degree courses for this academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th Percentile in NEETUG-2022. However, in respect of candidates belonging to BC /BC(M) / MBC / DC / SC / SCA/ ST, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th Percentile in NEETUG-2022. Regarding candidates with Persons with Benchmark disabilities alone, the minimum marks shall be at the 45th Percentile for General Category candidates and 40th Percentile for BC /BC(M) / MBC / DC / SC / SCA/ ST candidates in NEET UG-2022.
5. Candidates must have passed all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent Board with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology and English individually.
6. The candidate should have studied in Tamil medium up to X or XII Standard, or The candidate should have studied Tamil as a subject up to X or XII Standard, or The candidate must be prepared to pursue the study of Tamil Language as a subject during the First professional course of BSMS course, to become eligible to take the other subjects examination of the BSMS Course.
Eligibility for minority seats –
1. The candidates who are eligible to claim Linguistic Minority Seats reflecting their mother tongue (Malayalam) should produce the Study Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last studied – Annexure-VI (a) or a certificate issued by the competent revenue authority of the candidate’s native jurisdiction – Annexure – VI (b).
2. The candidates who are eligible to claim Religious Minority seats (Christian )/ Linguistic Minority seats(Malayalam), which is a NOTIFIED MINORITY COMMUNITY AS PER Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992, should produce the Study Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last studied – Annexure -VI (a) or a certificate issued by the competent revenue authority of the candidate’s native jurisdiction – Annexure – VI (b).
Counselling –
1. The candidates who failed to attend the counselling on the specified date and time will forfeit their right to admission, and their names will not be considered later.
2. Candidates should attend the counselling session per the schedule and rank with a call letter downloaded from the official website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in only.
3. Candidates will be called for counselling as per their rank and may exercise their option per their eligibility norms mentioned in the Prospectus.
4. Option, once exercised during counselling, will be final and cannot be changed.
5. Candidates can exercise their option for the course and the college of their choice at the time of counselling, and allotment is subject to the availability of seats.
6. Individual requests for college transfer or change will not be entertained after the allotment of seats is made.
7. No candidate can opt to be waitlisted for a particular college when seats are available in other colleges for the particular Community / Category / Course at their turn.
8. Mutual transfers will not be allowed under any circumstances.
9. Rules applicable for the Management Quota seats as per the prevalent NCISM/CCIM / NCH/ CCH rules and regulations, State Policy and the relevant rules of institutions applicable to the Self Financing Management Quota will apply.
10. If a candidate opts out of / is not willing to take either Government / another category of seats when seats are available in the particular course at the time of their counselling, then they will not be eligible for the same seat in that particular course at any point of time later for whatsoever reason.
11. The candidate can opt for any of the courses, viz. BSMS / BAMS / BHMS course under Management Quota in Self-financing colleges based on their eligibility. Likewise, they can be waitlisted for a particular course under Management Quota.
Method of selection and admission –
1. The admission shall be made based on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test NEET UG-2022 score for BSMS/BAMS/BHMS Courses for 2022-2023 for the Seats in Government IM&H Medical Colleges and Government Quota seats / Surrendered seats in Self Financing Medical Colleges.
2. Rank List of the eligible candidates shall be prepared based on the marks obtained in NEET UG-2022, and candidates shall be admitted to the above courses from the said rank list only.
3. The selection will be made on a merit basis and by counselling, applying the rule of reservation as laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu. BC/BCM/MBC/DNC/SC/SCA/ST candidates are also eligible for selection under open competition as per merit, and the reservation is made for them as per their communities.
