As per the latest media report by Free Press Journal, the UP Task force had been asked for conducting an investigation in this regard after it came into notice last November that hundreds of students got admitted to the Ayurveda colleges belonging to Uttar Pradesh even though they had not been named in the NEET merit list. Therefore, such students had been admitted after forging the original NEET merit list.
In fact, the State Government of Uttar Pradesh had also ordered CBI inquiry in this regard. Such anomalies in the AYUSH admission had been first detected by the Union Ministry of AYUSH regarding the admission of UG medical courses in Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathy colleges.
Times of India adds that during that probe it was revealed that the accused SN Singh, along with two other officials and the organzing private firm, Solf Solution Private Limited, had allegedly tampered with the data that they had got from the Directorate. Due to this, undeserving candidates secured admission in the AYUSH colleges of the State.
