CENTAC Releases Seat Matrix, Merit list For MBBS, BDS, BAMS Admission, 1178 Seats available
Puducherry: Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) released the seat matrix and the merit list for MBBS, BDS, and BAMS admission.
Seat matrix –
A total of 1178 seats are allocated for MBBS, BDS, and BAMS admission.

As per the notice, a meeting for MBBS seat sharing between Government and Private Medical Colleges was held in the Chamber of Hon'ble Chief Minister on 31st October 2022. PIMS and Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College have agreed to share 56 seats each, as was shared in the academic year 2021-22. As per Memorandum of Agreement executed in 2015, Sri Venkateshwara Medical College have agreed to share 53 seats for the academic year 2022-23 as against 54 seats in the last academic year.
Governors based on the said judgement, Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Puducherry, have to surrender 4 MBBS seats to Government Quota for the next three academic years starting from 2020-21 for admission of 4 Nos. of students in 1st-year MBBS Course in violation of regulation 5(7) of GMER, 1997. Accordingly, Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Puducherry, had surrendered 4 no. of seats for two academic years, 2020-21 and 2021-22. For the third year 2022-23, the Hon'ble High Court, Madras, has passed a STAY order on order above dated 13.08.2020. Hence, Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Puducherry, is sharing only 53 seats per agreement for 2022-23.
For MBBS seats horizontal reservations –
1. For the PH category, 5 % of the total seats of 165 works out to 8 only. Hence, in the Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Hospital, the rounding of 5% of 53 seats was restricted to 2, only to arrive at 8 seats.
2. For the FF category, 4% to 6.6. Hence rounded to 7 though 4% of 56 seats works out to 2.24, rounded to 3 in respect to PIMS to arrive at 7 seats.
3. For MSP / EXM, the reservation of 1% of 165 seats works out to 1.65 and is rounded to 2. Hence, no horizontal reservation was given to SVMC to EXM MSP.
For BDS seats horizontal reservations –
1. For Horizontal reservation for FF, 4% of total seats works out to 2.8, which is rounded to 3 for SVDC. This year 2 seats were allotted to SVDC. On rotation, this reservation to allotted to MINDS next year.
2. For Horizontal reservation for MSP, 1% of total seats works out to 0.70, which is rounded to 1 for SVDC. This year 1 seat was allotted to SVDC. On rotation, this reservation to allotted to MINDS next year.
Further, CENTAC has informed that candidates having objections to the drafted merit list, objections should be given only through Dashboard (using login credentials) on or before 17th November 2022, 6.00 pm.
