117 Dental Institutions participated in NIRF Rankings 2021: DCI
Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has notified about the participation of dental colleges in the NIRF rankings for dental institutions in the country this year.
The notice, addressed to the general public and the concerned dental institutions, in particular, was dated November 10th, 2021.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) which approved by the MHRD and launched by Hon'ble Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015, and outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover "Teaching, Learning and Resources," "Research and Professional Practices," "Graduation Outcomes," "Outreach and Inclusivity," and "Perception".
The notice states that dental institutes had started taking part in the NIRF Ranking Framework from the year 2020. "117 Dental Institutions have also participated for the year 2021 and the Hon'ble Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhanji, Government of India has released the India Rankings 2021 on 9th September 2021 , including the dental institutions," said the DCI notice.
The President, further, congratulated the Principals of the first 40 dental colleges and also put his appreciation on record to all the dental institutions those participated in National Institional Ranking Framework system of educational institutions for India Rankings 2021.
It is expected that more and more dental colleges shall participate for NIRF Rankings in the coming years from 2022 and onwards, the DCI said.
