KNRUHS invites applications for MDS Admissions 2023, Check out details

Telangana: The online registration process has begun for admission into MDS courses under the competent authority quota for the academic year 2023 -2024. Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has released a detailed prospectus.

Detailed schedule –

Availability of online Applications and uploading of Certificates


From 8.00 A.M. 12-07-2023 to

17-07-2023 up to 5.00 P.M.

Date of release of final merit list after verification of certificates

To be notified later

Dates of exercising web options for admission

into MDS Courses counseling.

To be notified later

Commencement of Classes

To be notified later

Closure of admissions

As per DCI Regulations

The steps to register –

1. Mobile and Email Registration

2. Candidate Registration (Payment of fee)

3. Updating of data

4. Uploading of Certificates

Registration and Processing fee –

The registration and processing fee is Rs.5500/-(Bank transaction charges extra) for OC, BC categories and Rs.5000/- (Bank transaction charges extra) for SC, ST categories. Registration and processing fees, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Equivalency fee –

Candidates must pay the fee for verification of certificates with regard to equivalence/equivalency as specified in the regulations along with the registration fee, in case of obtaining a BDS Degree from another state or other country of Rs. 5000 & Rs. 7000 respectively.

The documents to be submitted along with the application form –

1. Copy of Provisional or Original BDS Degree Certificate.(Mandatory)

2. Copy of BDS study certificate. (Mandatory)

3. Copy of the Compulsory Rotatory Internship certificate. (Mandatory)

4. Copies of Permanent Dental Registration from the respective State Dental Council. (Mandatory)

5. If the candidate passed BDS from Govt. Dental College, Vijayawada, Govt. Dental College, Hyderabad, and Army Dental College, Secunderabad, he/she has to submit study certificates from 6th to Intermediate / 10+2. ( Mandatory if applicable)

6. 10 years Residence proof/ Study certificates for TS/AP candidates claiming unreserved quota seats (who studied BDS outside TS/AP or another country)

7. Social Status Certificate (Permanent Caste Certificate) as shown in Annexure - I in the application form. (issued through mee-seva) if applicable

8. Service Certificate in case of In-service candidates as in Annexure-III B.

9. NEET -MDS - 2023 – SCORE CARD. (Mandatory)

10. Photo identity proof (Aadhar) (Mandatory)

11. Candidate’s Latest passport-size Photo (Mandatory)

12. Specimen Signature of the Candidate (Mandatory)

The applicant's candidature will not be considered for admission to MDS courses unless the candidate uploads all relevant scanned original certificates.

Number of seats under competent authority quota -

The number of MDS seats available for the academic year 2023-24 under the Competent Authority Quota will be in accordance with the orders of DCI/GOI/ Govt. of Telangana / KNRUHS. The seat matrix for the year 2023-24 will be displayed on the University website before exercising web options for counseling.

If DCI/Government of India permits any new seats in MDS Courses in colleges affiliated to KNRUHS for the academic year 2023-24, those seats will also be filled up. No further notification will be issued.

Eligibility –

The candidates who fulfill the following criteria are eligible for admission into MDS courses. They must apply online and upload the original certificates for Competent Authority Quota seats in dental colleges affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal.

The candidates who have qualified in the NEET-MDS-2023 examination with the following `cutoff scores and above are eligible to apply –

The Candidate should be a Citizen of India. Candidates who satisfy the Local or Non-local status as per G.O.P.No.646 Education (W) Department, Dated 10- 7-1979 (Presidential Order) only are eligible to apply for MDS admissions.

Candidates who are domiciled in Telangana / Andhra Pradesh and obtained BDS degrees from other states in India are eligible for unreserved quota.

Must have studied BDS in any one of the Dental Colleges in India.

The Dental Council of India should recognize BDS Degree.

Should have completed an internship on or before 30-06-2023

In the case of service candidates, service rendered shall be calculated as on 30-06-2023

Must have registered with the Dental Council of India.

Candidates already studying the MDS course shall not be permitted to register.

Candidates must pay the fee for verification of certificates with regard to equivalence/equivalency as specified in the regulations, along with the registration and processing fee. Once paid, The verification and registration fees will not be refunded or adjusted to a future date. Therefore candidates are advised to check eligibility conditions thoroughly before applying for determining merit positions in respective categories for State quota seats using NEET MDS- 2023 Rank.

Reservation in favor of the local candidates –

Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favor of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, GO (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department, dt.10-7-1979.

Merit lists –

The final merit position of the candidates who have applied online in response to the notification issued by KNR University of Health Sciences for Competent Authority Quota seats shall be determined by NEET- MDS- 2023 rank and as per their eligibility criteria, applicable regulations, guidelines, and reservation policies –

1. As per MDS Regulations of the Dental Council of India, the candidates who secure a minimum of 50 Percentile marks for General category, 40 Percentile marks for SC/ST/BC candidates, and 45 Percentile of marks for Persons with Disability category candidates in NEET MDS-2023 as per the cutoff scores, are only eligible for admission or as per any revised cut-off scores as decided by Government of India.

2. The University will release the final merit list of eligible candidates for exercising web options after verification of uploaded certificates by the University and the concerned departmental officers.

Counseling –

1. The notification for the schedule for exercising web options will be issued separately on the KNRUHS website.

2. Verification of uploaded certificates will be done only once for web-based counseling, irrespective of the number of rounds of exercising web-based options and the number of counselings. Hence, candidates who have applied online are advised to upload all original certificates at the time of online registration without fail for scrutiny by the concerned departmental officials.

3. No individual communications will be sent. Candidates are informed to check the website regularly for notifications.

Admission rules –

1. The letter of selection of admission for selected candidates has to be downloaded from the website after payment of the University fee through the payment gateway.

2. The original certificates submitted at the time of admission to the Principal of the allotted college shall not be returned to the candidates until they complete their course.

3. The admissions shall be closed as per the time schedule given by the DCI.

4. Any vacancy that arises after the closure of admissions shall not be filled.

Period of training –

The duration of the MDS Course is 3 Years. A candidate admitted into the MDS course shall pass the examination within 4 years from the date of completion of the course. If he/she fails to pass the examination within the period specified above, he/she shall not be permitted to appear for the examination thereafter and qualify for the award of an MDS Degree.

Commencement of the course –

The course shall commence as per the schedule notified. The duration of the course shall be calculated from the date of commencement of the course and shall be uniform for all the candidates, irrespective of individual dates of admission.
