NEET MDS 2025 aspirants Students Urge NBE to set up Exam Centre in Imphal

Manipur- PG Dental aspirants seeking to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2025 recently submitted a memorandum to the Executive Director of the National Board of Medical Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), appealing to include Imphal as a centre for the upcoming exam.
Through the memorandum, the students stated that they have passed the BDS course and now they are willing to appear in NEET-MDS 2025 to pursue postgraduate courses in Dentistry.
However, not allocating examination centres in the state is akin to discriminating against the students of Manipur, they said. According to the e-Pao Media News report, sources said that despite Manipur having three government medical colleges, two dental colleges and one private medical college, NBEMS has not allotted any examination centre in the state.
The students further said that most of the candidates belong to poor or economically weaker families whose socio-economic crunch has been aggravated due to the unrest in the State since May 3, 2023. Along with this, through the representation, they also said that they can barely afford the expenses of appearing in the NEET MDS 2025 entrance examination outside the State.
Therefore, through the memorandum, the students appealed to NBEMS to allot at least one examination centre for NEET-MDS, 2025 in Imphal in the public interest.
Meanwhile, NBEMS has fixed the date for the NEET-MDS 2025 written exam as April 19 2025, while the application forms for the same can be submitted from February 18 to March 10.
However, earlier, NBEMS also excluded Imphal from the list of exam centres for the NEET PG 2024 exam. This exclusion poses significant challenges for local students, as the restrictions on free movement on national highways made travel to centres outside the state difficult.
