DME Tamil Nadu Extends Refund Process For MBBS, BDS Courses
Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) has extended the time for a refund of the candidate's undergraduate MBBS/BDS courses 2022-2023 session.
The refund portal for Under Graduate MBBS/BDS courses was open till 9.2.2023, 5.00 pm. More than 1500 candidates are yet to log in and confirm their refund details. Considering this, the time for confirming in the refund portal is being extended till 12.2.2023 at 5.00 pm. Candidates/Parents need to login into the Portal and confirm their refund details. Only those candidates who are yet to confirm their refund amount need to log in.
The candidates must enter details, including the Name of the Account Holder, Bank Account No., IFS Code and Name of the Bank etc., in the appropriate column. If the candidate accepts the indicated refund amount, they have to click on the check box “Correct”, thereby confirming their acceptance of the refund amount. Any change in a claim later will not be entertained. If the candidate does not agree on the refund amount, they have to click on the check box “In-correct” and enter the relevant information in the remark column with the transaction ID.
The candidates note that application fees & processing fees are non-refundable. Those who discontinued/did not join the allotted course during or after Round II of UG allotment has forfeited their tuition fee and Security deposit as per Govt. prospectus clause 14 III (g) & Management quota prospectus of clause 12 III (g). Hence, they are not eligible for a refund.
For candidates who have joined the course, their fees will be transferred to the respective institutions; for candidates who have moved from one category to another, the fee difference only, if any, will be refunded to the individual candidates.
The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres with State of the art equipment and technology.
