New Delhi: Social media posts claiming that the question paper for the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 exam has been leaked and is available for sale are "false and bogus".

This has been recently clarified by the National Board of Examinations, the exam-conducting body for NEET PG. NBE has clarified that no paper leak has taken place.

Issuing a notice on 07.08.2024, NBE denied such false claims made by a Telegram channel titled "NEET-PG LEAKED MATERIAL", where unscrupulous agents were claiming to provide NEET-PG 2024 questions in exchange for money.

Assuring the aspirants that question papers for NEET-PG 2024 are yet to be prepared, NBE added that it has already registered a police complaint against such fraudsters and their accomplices for trying to befool the aspirants.

The Claim:

While there are hardly 6 days left for the NEET PG 2024 exam, scheduled to take place on 11th August 2024, a Telegram Channel titled "NEET-PG LEAKED MATERIALS", which has 20.6 K subscribers, started claiming that the question paper for NEET-PG 2024 exam had been leaked and interested candidates could purchase the same in exchange for money.

One of the posts in the channel mentioned, "Slot booking for leaked materials against August session is currently going on book for your slot and clear this session with no stress." The post claimed that there was a 98% guarantee, it was 100% refundable and the questions were only for candidates who could memorize appropriately.

The latest post on August 7, 2024, mentioned, "Finally the leaked materials are available.and distributions is already going on for those who booked for their slots...and some of you are hypocrites, you condem leaked materials openly then you inbox us for the same leaked materials.i don't blame you guys because most of you haven't understood how things happens in this India...."

"The board said materials will be prepared 2hrs before exams just because they don't want the candidates to believe that there will be leakages, normally it takes more than 48 hrs to ready the questions...What'sApp:+14166199217," mentioned another Telegram post in the channel.

Earlier, raising the issue, Health Activist Dr. Vivek Pandey had shared the screenshots and the link to the Telegram Channel in an X (formerly Twitter) post and demanded an immediate inquiry into the matter.

Medical Dialogues had also reported about the issue of how the Telegram channel was claiming that NEET-PG 2024 question papers were available for sale in exchange for money and pointed out that authorities should release a clarification in this regard.

Fact Check: The Claim is FALSE. No Paper leak has happened and this telegram channel is making false claims. NBEMS has registered a police complaint against such fraudsters and their accomplices for their attempt to befool NEET-PG aspirants in the name of providing questions of NEET-PG 2024 for a considerable sum of money.

So was there any Leak of NEET-PG 2024 Question Papers?

According to the authority's clarification, the question papers for NEET-PG 2024 have not been prepared yet and such claims for the sale of question papers being made on social media platforms are bogus.

Through the notice dated 07.08.2024, NBE referred to the "false and bogus claims" being made by "some unscrupulous agents" through social media platforms viz. Telegram Messenger.

NBE highlighted how the cozeners were claiming to provide NEET-PG 2024 questions for the upcoming NEET-PG Exam in exchange for a considerable amount of money and denied such claims altogether.

"By the present notice, NBEMS denies such false claims made by a Telegram channel titled “NEET-PG LEAKED MATERIAL” and cautions applicants for NEETPG 2024 to not get allured/misled by such unscrupulous elements who are trying to befool them by claiming to have access to questions of upcoming NEET-PG 2024," NBE mentioned in the notice.

"All NEET-PG 2024 candidates are assured that the question papers for NEET-PG 2024 are yet to be prepared by NBEMS and claims made on these social media platforms are bogus," it added.

NBE further mentioned that police complaint has been registered against fraudsters and their accomplices and added, "NBEMS has already registered a police complaint against such fraudsters and their accomplices for their attempt to befool NEET-PG aspirants in the name of providing questions of NEET-PG 2024 for a considerable sum of money."

"It is further advised that direct or indirect indulgence of anyone in any of such activities or publishing/ spreading rumors without verifying the facts shall be appropriately dealt with by NBEMS," it added in the notice.

NBE further asked the candidates to report to NBE or the local police if such agents promise any such undue favour promising to provide question papers.

"In case candidates are approached by any such unscrupulous agents/touts promising any such undue favour/ promising to provide question papers for NBEMS examinations through any spoofed emails/SMS or telephone call or forged documents or personally or through social media, the same may be reported to NBEMS through its Communication Web Portal: https://exam.natboard.edu.in/communication.php?page=main or to the local police for further investigation," read the notice.
