Faculty of Medical Sciences notifies on Temporary Discontinuation Of Studentship In PG Medical Courses
New Delhi: Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMSC) has issued a notification about the temporary discontinuation of studentship in Postgraduate Medical courses.
The students who have been offered a regular post in the medical profession under the central/state government/autonomous/statutory body can request to the Board of Research Studies (BRS) through the head of the institution for the temporary discontinuation of the course unless they have discontinued the employment.
During the entire course, temporary discontinuation of the course may be allowed on one occasion only on the recommendations of BRS. This will be done in such a manner so that the student should complete the course within the span period after re-joining.
The students must furnish an undertaking on a judicial stamp of Rs. 100 to the effect that in case of failure of completion of the course for any reason within the prescribed span period, they will be liable to deposit the prescribed bond money to the concerned institution.
The concerned institution will release the students' original documents to join the government service. Such students shall re-join the course after getting appropriate leave from their employer to complete their course.
The students will have to avail temporary discontinuation at their own risk and costs, and the university/ institution will not be liable. Temporary discontinuation will not result in the relaxation of any other provision of the university's ordinances and will be subject to the guidelines/regulations of the regulatory bodies concerned. The existing cases will also be dealt with accordingly.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences was established under the provision of statute 9 of the statute of the University of Delhi and had a total of 24 departments. Admission to its courses is based on the rank secured by the candidate in the NEET exam. The courses include undergraduate courses (MBBS, BDS), postgraduate courses (MD, MS, Diploma), super specialty (DM, MCh), and PhD courses.
