Joint Accreditation programme 2026: NBE lists 80 DNB post MBBS, post diploma seats across 9 specialities, check details
New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released details of DNB seats available under its Joint Accreditation Programme for the 2026 admission session, informing candidates participating in counselling about the primary and secondary hospitals linked under the programme.
The notice issued by the NBE in this regard is applicable to all candidates participating in counselling for DNB/Diploma seats for the 2026 admission session, as well as hospitals and medical institutions accredited under the NBEMS Joint Accreditation Programme.
NBEMS has described the Joint Accreditation Programme as one of its flagship programmes. The Board had earlier published the scheme of Joint Accreditation through a public notice dated June 30, 2023. Candidates and institutions have been advised to refer to the NBEMS Information Bulletin for Accreditation for the existing guidelines, instructions and eligibility criteria governing the programme.
Under the scheme, an accredited programme involves a primary hospital/institution and a secondary hospital/institution. The latest notice provides the names of both institutions, the accredited speciality, the number/type of seats and the approximate distance between the two facilities.
As per the notice, NBEMS has listed 28 primary-secondary hospital arrangements under the Joint Accreditation Programme for the 2026 admission session. The seats span several specialities.
NBEMS has provided the approximate distance between the primary and secondary hospitals in the notice, an important detail for candidates considering seats offered under the Joint Accreditation Programme.
The distances vary substantially across the listed arrangements, ranging from 150 metres to 132 km. The list also includes arrangements where the two institutions are 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, 4 km and further apart.
Candidates participating in the DNB/Diploma counselling for the 2026 admission session should therefore carefully check the primary institution, secondary institution, speciality, available seats and distance between the two hospitals while considering options listed under the programme.
