AFMS PG Medical Admissions 2021: 12 Seats available For Mop-Up Round, Details
New Delhi: A total of 12 seats are available for the candidates participating in the Mop-Up round for postgraduate courses; Armed Force Medical Services (AFMS) has notified through a written notice.
MD Pediatrics has been allotted the highest number of seats which is 3. Whereas MD General Surgery, MD Pathology, MD Microbiology, and MD Hospital Admin has 2 seats each and MD Psychiatry has 1 seat allotted.
The list of colleges includes -
1. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.
2. Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt.
3. INHS Asvini, Mumbai.
4. Command Hospital (Eastern Command), Kolkata.
The number of PG teachers available, the student-teacher ratio and any other criteria laid down by the MCI/ affiliated universities from time to time will determine the number of candidates to be admitted in any course. Seats will be allotted in merit in order of preference by offline counselling.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is the counselling body for all Post Graduate Courses (MD/M.S/Diploma) in Medical education institutions of the Central Government.
Eligibility criteria –
1. The candidates need to be Indian citizens.
2. Should not be more than 30 years of age on 31st December 2022.
3. Candidates must have an MBBS Degree registered with the State Medical Council or Medical Council of India.
4. Candidates must have completed the internship by 30th September 2021.
5. The candidate should be NEET PG qualified with 35% marks.
6. Candidates not holding any seats in All India NEET PG counselling.
7. Only Priority III/ IV/V candidates of the AFMS matrix may apply. They should have registered on the MCC website for the mop-up round. Priority I/II are not eligible for the mop-up round.
The order of preferences –
Priority-III includes medical officers sponsored by Para Military Forces/other Government of India organizations.
Priority-IV includes Ex-SSC AFMS officers released from service after completion of contractual service, within 3 years after the release from service (the date of release should not be before 1st May 2018) for the session starting from 1st February 2022. The date has been extended due to the COVID pandemic. Officers who have resigned from the commission/ dismissed/ removed from service/not completed the contractual service are not eligible.
Priority-V includes Civilian doctors willing to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) for 5 years after completing the course subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The candidate will have to execute a bond agreement to pay an amount as sanctioned by the Government of India at the time of admission, if unwilling to join AFMS, when offered commission on completion of the course.
Candidates who want to pursue a PG course at AFMS institutions for the session commencing from February 2022 will have to register on the DGHS website for the counselling process. The candidates should ascertain whether they meet the requisite eligibility criteria. The final eligibility of the candidates will be confirmed at the time of admission. The counselling process is scheduled for 25th March 2022 at AFMC, Pune.
Priority III, IV, V candidates to report at Dhanvantari Auditorium at AFMC, Pune, on an empty stomach on 25th March 2022 at 7:30 am. After 9:00 am, candidates will not be allowed to enter. On 26th March 2022, counselling for seat allotment will be done amongst medically fit candidates. Therefore, the candidates need to report at 9:00 am.
Civilian doctors (Priority V candidates) will have to undergo a medical examination by a duly constituted medical board to assess their fitness for commission as per laid down criteria and will be admitted only if found fit.
List of documents to be submitted –
1. 6 Passport size photographs
2. Copy of the NEET - PG 2021 admit card.
3. Print out of registration details page from the DGHS website www.mcc.nic for counselling.
4. NEET-PG 2021score card as published by NBE.
5. SSLC/ICSE certificate as a valid certificate of proof of age.
6. Nationality certificate/xerox copy of valid passport and domicile certificate (where applicable)/birth certificate endorsed with nationality as India.
7. First of final year MBBS mark sheets of the respective university.
8. MBBS pass certificate/degree certificate.
9. Internship completion certificate.
10.Permanent/provisional state medical council registration certificate.
11. Attempt certificate.
12. Transfer certificate/migration certificate.
13. Educational gap affidavit if any.
14. Allotment letter which will be published on the website after counselling is over.
Priority III candidates –
1. Subject-specific sponsorship certificate (as per format available on the website) issued by the respective Para Military/ other Government of India organization is mandatory. This has to be produced at the time of counselling.
2. Candidates will be considered eligible for only those subjects mentioned in their sponsorship certificate duly signed by competent authority delegated by the head of the respective organization.
3. An original copy of the sponsorship certificate will be required to be deposited at the time of admission.
Priority IV Candidates –
1. In the case of Ex-AMC/SSC Officers, release order from Armed Forces Medical Services by DGAFMS/ concerned Medical Directorate and movement order from the last unit for proceeding on release. All these will be required at the time of counselling and admission. Candidates will have to submit the original copies.
2. SSC Officers in their last year of contractual service will have to produce their original release order from the Armed Forces Medical Services at the time of counselling, without which the candidate will not be allowed to attend the counselling.
3. SSC Officers in their extended contractual service must, in addition, have a copy of the permission letter from the O/o DGAFMS besides the proof of being released from services.
Candidates note that no reservation is based on caste or religion, and the selection will be purely based on merit. However, one who is already pursuing a PG course will not be eligible for pursuing any other course for the academic year 2021-22.
As per the instruction from the Government of India on the subject, the candidates pursuing the course will have a service liability/bond liability binding. Candidates will not be eligible for counselling if the names don't appear in the registered list.
