AIIMS Begins Registrations for INI CET 2026 Open Round.

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, has begun the registration process for online seat allocation for admission to PG courses, i.e. MD, MS, DM (6 years, / MCh (6 years) and MDS through the Institutes of National Importance Common Entrance Test (INI CET) for the January 2026 session.

As per the schedule, the online registration and exercise of choices for the open round of seat allocation has started from 23 January 2026 and will end on 30 January 2026.

Candidates can register through the official website of AIIMS New Delhi and complete the exercise of options. The link for the portal will be activated only for eligible candidates on “MyPage”, which can be accessed by logging in using the credentials used to fill out the application form and complete other processes related to INI-CET for admission to PG courses for the January 2026 session.

After the completion of the registration process, AIIMS New Delhi will announce the seat allocation of the open round on 20 February 2026. Thereafter, the online acceptance and reporting process of the allotted seat will begin from 21 to 28 February 2026.

Meanwhile, all the provisionally eligible candidates and who are not holding any seat by allocation and wish to participate in the Open Round of Seat Allocation are mandatorily required to deposit Rs 3.00 Lakh through RTGS / NEFT by 5 pm on 30 January 2025 as per the procedure provided at the end of this document.

All candidates are required to deposit Rs. 3,00,000.00 as security and are required to provide the bank details with a scanned copy of the cheque of the bank account to which the refund (if any) is to be credited, as required in the portal. The refund (if any) will be processed in due course after the closure of all processes and verification from all aspects. No correspondence regarding early refunds will be entertained.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that sponsored/in-service candidates should get relieved from the parent dept./Institute by 11.00 am, 28 February 2025, as applicable. No extension will be granted on the last date of reporting/admission. No further round of seat allocation will be conducted by any participating institute for the January 2025 Session.

In this regard, AIIMS New Delhi has also released an information brochure detailing important information for the candidates regarding the open round of seat allocation. Below is some of the information-

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates who have appeared in INI-CET PG for the January 2026 session held on Sunday, the 10th November 2024 and obtained the following percentile will be deemed to be provisionally eligible to participate in the Open Round of Seat Allocation-

a) Unreserved (UR)/EWS/Foreign National/OCI - 50th percentile.

b) OBC, SC, ST, PwBD - 45th percentile.

c) Bhutani National – 45th percentile.

ONLINE REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

The candidate may register online for the Open Round of Seat Allocation latest by 05:00 pm on Friday, the 30th January 2026, on the AIIMS New Delhi Official website.

STEPS TO REGISTER

STEP 1- Visit the Official website of the AIIMS New Delhi.

STEP 2- Select your desired course “[MD/MS.(M.Ch.(6yrs.)/DM(6yrs.)]” / “MDS” under the “Academic Courses” tab and then click on the “Registration/Login” under General Links to proceed further to register.

STEP 3- Enter your Registration ID and Password to log in.

STEP 4- On “My Page”, click on the “Register for Open Round of Seat Allocation” link.

STEP 5- Opt for the choice to register for the Open Round of Seat Allocation.

AGE LIMIT

a NIMHANS, Bengaluru (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of NIMHANS under INI-CET for the January 2025 session-

For MD Psychiatry Course-

i General/Unreserved Category’- 32 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1994 are eligible).

ii OBC Category’- 35 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1991 are eligible).

iii SC/ST/PWBD Category’-37 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1989 are eligible).

iv Sponsored Category’- 45 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1981 are eligible).

For DM (Neurology), M.Ch. Neurosurgery (Post MBBS category) Course & MD Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation-

i 32 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1994 are eligible).

b SCTIMST Trivandrum (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of SCTIMST under INI-CET for the January 2025 session-

i General/Unreserved/ EWS/Foreign National category- 40 Years (candidates born on or after 01.01.1986 are eligible).

ii SC/ST/ Ex-service personnel – 45 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1981 are eligible).

iii OBC – 43 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1983 are eligible).

iv Sponsored– 50 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1976 are eligible).

OBC(NCL)/EWS CANDIDATES

The status of the applicable reserve category for all OBC/EWS candidates participating in the Open Round of Seat Allocation will be considered as per the verification done before the 1st round of online seat allocation. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in the Central Govt. Institution.

VACANT SEAT DETAILS

Along with this, AIIMS New Delhi has also released the tentative seat position for the open round of online seat allocation for admission to PG courses of INI for the INI-CET January 2026 session. The vacancies has been released for different subjects/specialities have been released after allocation in the 2nd round of online seat allocation.

As per the tentative seat position, a total of 498 seats are vacant for the open round of online seat allocation for admission to PG courses of INI for the INI-CET January 2026 session. Of these, a total of 438 seats are vacant in MD/MS/DM(06 YEARS)/MCH(06 YEARS) and a total of 60 seats are vacant in Foreign National/Sponsored.
