AIIMS Rishikesh invites applications for Post-doctoral fellowship courses January 2026 session, know all details here

AIIMS Rishikesh Invites Application for Post-Doctoral Fellowship Courses for January 2026 Session.

Rishikesh: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, has officially released the prospectus for its Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Courses for the January 2026 session, inviting applications from eligible medical graduates for specialised fellowship programmes.

According to the prospectus, the last date to submit the online application along with the requisite documents and fee is December 8, 2025, 5:00. Applications must be sent via registered post to the Dean (Examination), AIIMS Rishikesh. The institute has also announced that admit cards and examination dates will be notified later on the official website.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates must possess a requisite qualification recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), India. Postgraduate degrees from Departments / Institutions to which NMC, India, recognition has not been formally granted will not be considered, and the candidature of applicants with such degrees may be rejected at any stage (including after admission if this fact comes to notice at that stage).

1 MD/MS Postgraduate degree or other Equivalent Degree recognised by the National Medical Commission, India, in the respective discipline.

2 The eligible candidate must be a Medical officer with post-MBBS clinical experience of working in a state PHC/CHC for a minimum of 2 years.

APPLICATION FEE

1 General / OBC Category- Rs 1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.

2 SC/ST/EWS Category- Rs 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.

3 PWD Candidates are exempted from any Fee.

However, the fee should be paid online only. A candidate who will deposit the fee through cash in the account mentioned will not be considered for the course and the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

1 Date of Birth/Class X Certificate.

2 Medical Council Registration.

3 Internship completion certificate.

4 SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable).

5 MBBS Mark-sheets.

6 MBBS Degree.

7 MD/MS/DNB Mark-sheets.

8 MD/MS/DNB Degree.

9 Attempt certificates.

10 Fee Receipt.

11 Experience Certificate.

12 Sponsorship Certificate (For Sponsored only).

13 Copies of any other relevant documents.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS BY CANDIDATES WHO ARE EMPLOYED

The institute does not have any objection if candidates in employment apply for the above postgraduate course (except candidates for sponsored seats), submit their applications directly, i.e. they are not required to submit their applications through the proper channel). However, all such candidates should inform their employer in writing that they are applying for this Entrance Examination. They should also sign an undertaking that they have informed their employer about the submission of the application to AIIMS.

If any communication is received from their department/office withholding permission to the candidate’s appearing at the entrance examination/admission to the course, the candidature/admission of the candidate will be cancelled, and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. (Sponsored candidates are required to route their Registration Slip through the proper channel).

DECLARATION OF RESULT

Results for PDF will be available only on the website of AIIMS Rishikesh. However, the results of individual candidates will not be informed on the telephone and candidates are advised not to call the Examination Section for such information.

GUILDLINES FOR REGULAR AIIMS RISHIKESH FACULTY FOR POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP (PDF) PROGRAMME UNDER SPONSORED CATEGORY

1 Members of the medical faculty can apply for registration to the PDF course as in-service candidates.

2. Faculty should be a regular employee of the Institute & should have rendered a minimum of 5 years continuous service as faculty at the Institute.

3. Candidate admitted under this category will be considered as an in-service candidate, provided the Head of Department certifies that (a) such training will help in patient care/teaching/research of the Department, (b) the work of the Department will not suffer and no additional staff will be asked for.

4 A faculty member who has registered himself/herself as a PDF course/ fellowship will not be allotted new candidates for Guide/Co-Guide of any other Post-Graduate course in the concerned department during the time he/she is undergoing the course.

5 Faculty members may apply through the proper channel as sponsored candidates and appear for the entrance examination.

6 Through a proper channel for open entrance examination if sponsored seat are not available.

7 Candidates selected for pursuing said course have to pay the PDF fee, etc.

8 Faculty member has to execute a bond that he/she will serve the institute for a period not less than five years after completing said course, failing to which they are liable to return the total salary, allowances and any amount paid to them by the institute during their course, along with a penalty amount of Rs 20 Lakhs. In case of violation of compliance of provisions of the executed bond, appropriate legal action shall be initiated against defaulters.

9 During the period of the course, the in-service/faculty member will be treated as on study leave.

10 Period of study leave for said course within the same Department or within AIIMS will be counted for the purpose of A.P.S. Those who are availing study leave for courses outside the AIIMS period will not be counted for A.P.S.

11 Candidate/faculty will not be entitled to winter/summer vacation during the entire course and he/she will be eligible for leaves as per the residency Scheme.

12 Duties/Responsibilities of the trainee will be as per the Residency Scheme.

13 In-service candidates will have the option to pursue this course in any related speciality, subject to the availability of seats and forwarding of their applications through the proper channel.

14 Candidate/faculty will be allowed to avail of study leave for pursuing PDF courses only one during their entire service.
