BFUHS notifies round 1 MBBS, BDS counselling schedule, check details

Punjab: The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the detailed schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the 2026 session in Punjab.

According to the schedule, candidates can submit their online admission applications until August 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. After this, the correction window will remain open until August 11, 2026, up to 5:00 PM, after which applications will be locked automatically, and no further changes will be permitted.

Candidates applying under the Sports Category must submit two printed copies of their online application form, along with the Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab, and self-attested supporting documents, in person at the BFUHS Admission Branch by August 11, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

APPLICATION FEE (ONLINE)

The online application fee must be paid by August 11, 2026, up to 3:00 PM. The fee has been fixed at ₹5,900 for General and other category candidates and ₹2,950 for Scheduled Caste candidates, inclusive of 18% GST. Payment will be accepted only through the university’s online payment gateway.

It is to be noted that candidates claiming reservation under the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category shall produce a valid UDID Card/Disability Certificate issued in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the norms prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

VERIFICATION OF MINORITY QUOTA CANDIDATES

The eligibility verification of Christian Minority candidates will be conducted at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, while Sikh Minority candidates must report to Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar. Both verification processes must be completed by August 12, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that the candidates claiming admission under the Sikh Minority or Christian Minority Quota must report to the respective verification centre along with all original certificates/documents, including documentary proof in support of their minority status, within the prescribed schedule. Only candidates who will get their eligibility verified shall be permitted to exercise preferences for Minority Quota seats during online counselling.

NRI CANDIDATES

Candidates applying under the NRI quota must submit the physical application form by August 12, 2026, up to 4:00 PM. The eligibility certificate form and admission application form for NRI candidates are separately available on the university website.

MERIT LIST

The provisional merit list will be displayed on August 13, 2026. Candidates can raise objections on August 14, 2026, but objections will be accepted only through personal appearance at the BFUHS Admission Branch with relevant documentary evidence. Submissions through email or any other electronic mode will not be considered.

The revised merit list, if required after disposal of objections, will be published on August 15, 2026.

SCHEDULE FOR FIRST ROUND OF ONLINE COUNSELLING

Meanwhile, the first-round counselling will begin from 16th August and will end by 28 August 2026. As per the first-round counselling schedule, online choice filling will be conducted from August 16 to August 19, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The provisional seat allotment result will be announced on August 22, 2026.

Following this, the candidates can submit objections to the provisional allotment in person at BFUHS until August 23, 2026, up to 3:00 PM. The revised provisional allotment, if any, will be displayed on August 24, 2026.

Provisionally allotted candidates must report physically to their respective colleges between August 25 and August 28, 2026. During reporting, candidates will undergo verification of original documents, medical examination where applicable, and completion of admission formalities. They must also pay the prescribed six-month tuition fee through the university’s online payment gateway available in their login.
