KNRUHS notifies on Post-Doctoral Fellowship admissions 2025- Check schedule, eligibility, stipend, course details here

Warangal: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has released the official admission notification for Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) courses in various medical specialities for the academic year 2025-26.
According to the notification dated January 23, 2026, admissions to PDF courses will be conducted through recognised research centres, centres of excellence, and hospitals permitted by KNRUHS across Telangana. The schedule for the admission process has also been announced.

The Directors of the Research Centres/Centers of Excellence/Hospitals may fix last date for receipt of applications and interview dates as per the above schedule and to send the list of selected candidates to the University on or before 16.02.2026 for approval.
The following is the procedure for admissions into Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) courses for the academic year 2025-26:
Eligibility:
i. Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) or PG Diploma in the concerned speciality. The PG Diploma candidates must have worked one year in a PG Centre/Institution and have submitted a Project/Dissertation. Candidates who have studied in countries outside India and passed Medical PG Examination are also eligible to join, provided they produce the following certificates:
a) Equivalent Certificates issued by KNRUHS, Warangal.
b) Permanent Registration Certificate issued by the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC), Hyderabad.
The equivalency fee shall be collected from the fellows who have studied outside the State of ₹8,000/- and from those who studied outside the country at ₹10,000/-. The fee shall be paid through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, KNRUHS, payable at Warangal, in any nationalized bank, and the same shall be sent to the University on or before 16.02.2026.
ii. Age not exceeding 45 years of the year of admission.
iii. Fitness: The candidate should produce a medical certificate issued by a civil surgeon.
• The Directors of the Research centres/Hospitals are hereby informed to submit a copy of the notification advertised in the newspaper to the University.
• The Directors of the Research centres/Hospitals are hereby informed to intimate the University the proposed date of interview for selection of the candidates well in advance to the University, with a request to depute a representative of the University to constitute the interview board.
• The Directors of the Research centres/Hospitals are hereby informed to submit a detailed report on the selection process after the interviews are completed (i.e. the details of notification in the newspapers, date of interview, number of applications received, number of candidates found eligible, number of candidates attended the interview, list of candidates selected and list of candidates rejected, etc.).
Stipend:
For Non Sponsored candidates, Stipend equivalent to that of a senior resident in a government institution prevailing at that time will be paid to the fellow by the institute where the candidate is admitted for the fellowship course. The University will not give any stipend to the candidates.
Course Fee:
The annual course fee of Rs. 36,000/- (Rupees Thirty-Six Thousand only) per candidate has to be paid by the candidate and demand draft should be drawn in favour of “THE REGISTRAR, KNRUHS, TG, Warangal” payable at Warangal on or before 20.02.2026.
Admission is strictly based on merit as per marks in MD/MS and interview with 50% weightage for each. The fellowship registration committee shall have 4 members consisting of:
1. Head of the Institution conducting the programme.
2. Head of Department or Co-ordinator of the programme.
3. One subject specialist from another institution.
4. A representative from KNRUHS, TG, Warangal nominated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor.
The Chairman/Convener of the committee will be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor.
With the same eligibility criteria, age will be the preferential factor. If 2 candidates secured equal marks, the interviewing panel will take a decision for selection of candidate.

The intake for each Fellowship programme shall be not more than 04 (Four) per year, out of which 50% of the candidates shall be sponsored candidates by Government of Telangana. In case there are no sponsored candidates by the Government of Telangana, the seats may be filled up by the institute through the selection procedure.
The course shall commence from 16 .02.2026. The Hospitals/Institutes can start the course from 16 .02.2026 without waiting for the approval regarding admission of candidates from the University. The Hospitals/Institutes are instructed to send the joining reports along with the requisite fee submitted by the admitted candidates to the University.
The interviews for admission into PDF courses shall be conducted in only one phase. Request for further phases of interviews shall not be considered.
The Institution/Hospital should strictly follow the rules and regulations governing the fellowship courses.
