MBBS Admissions 2023: AIIMS releases prospectus, schedule of activities, check out complete details here
Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has released the prospectus and the schedule of activities for NEET counselling for MBBS admissions at the institute.
The result of the first round of counselling for NEET-UG 2023 will be announced by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on 29th July 2023.
The candidates need to follow the instructions provided by MCC regarding the process of reporting and taking admission. As per the schedule of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the candidates who are allotted AIIMS-New Delhi and AIIMS-Jammu, are required to report at ARMS, New Delhi, to complete the process of Admission (From 31st July - 4th August 2023). Candidates allotted seats in AIIMS-Jammu shall also report at AIIMS, Delhi.
The detailed schedule for AIIMS Delhi and AIIMS Jammu –
Venue for Reporting
Conference Hall, 1st Floor (JL Auditorium complex), AIIMS, New Delhi (Search on Google maps: "28.567566, 77.211128") Following activities are required to be completed by candidates:

Medical Examination | 2nd and 4th August 2023 | Reporting at 8.30 A.M. The verification of documents of those students will be completed on 31st & 1st, their medical will be done on 2nd August 2023, & verification of those students will be completed on 2nd, 3rd & 4th their medical will be done on 4th August, 2023. The verification of those students will be done on 4th afternoon their medical will be done on 5th August 2023. |
Payment of Academic and Hostel Fees. | 2nd and 4th August 2023 | After 2.30 P.M. On declaration of Medical Fitness, the candidate has to deposit the requisite fee i.e. Rs.5856/- for Indian National and $25000USD 1st instalment for Foreign National students. Allotment of Hostel accommodation will be done immediately after the submission of fees. |
Orientation Programme (on for AIIMS-Delhi) | 7th to 13th August 2023 | An orientation programme has been arranged for freshers for their welfare at Conference Hall, which is compulsory to attend for all. The regular classes will start on 16th August 2023. |
Candidates should be prepared for an additional day of stay as joining and medical examination may spill over to the next day.
Admitted candidates must attend the Orientation Programme and join classes as & when the session begins for AIIMS, New Delhi. The admission of the candidates, who fail to join the Course by the date stipulated in the letter of intimation, shall automatically be cancelled. Such seats shall then be offered to the candidates on the waiting list in order of merit in the same category.
Normally no candidate, Indian or Foreign, will be admitted to the MBBS course beyond 31st August of the admission year. No candidate except foreign nationals will be admitted under any circumstances beyond 31st August of the year of admission. The candidates admitted after 31st August will only be eligible to appear in the First Professional Examination with the next batch of students. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the reporting and joining dates given by MCC DGHS will be followed.

2. NTA Admit Card
3. NEET/NTA Scorecard — original print, not photocopy.
4. Identity Proof (Aadhar Card / Election Card /Passport or any photo identity proof) issued by the Government of India
5. Five Passport size Photographs
Eligibility and category related -
1. Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent Examinations showing the subject offered by him/her in the Examination
2. Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the High School/ Higher Secondary Examination, showing his/her date of birth.
3. Certificate/Mark sheet from the Board from which he/she passed the 10+2 or equivalent Examination showing that he/she has secured 60% or more marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
4. Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended by him/her
Applicable only to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe/OBC/EWS/OPH Category -
1. SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority. The community should be clearly mentioned in the certificate.
2. OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the central list of OBC. OBC candidates should not belong to the Creamy layer. OBC certificate must be in the prescribed format. (The OBC certificates issued from 1st April 2022 (inclusive) and the start of reporting of Round-1 of MBBS counselling (as per Medical Counselling Committee for MBBS admission) will be considered valid for admission for NEET (UG) 2023
3. EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority.
4. The EWS certificates issued from 1st April 2022 (inclusive) and the start of reporting of Round-1 of MBBS counselling (as per Medical Counselling Committee for MBBS admission) will be considered valid for admission for NEET (UG) 2022
5. Certificate from prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
Duration of course -
The Course of studies leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences shall last for a minimum of five and a half academic years, including one year's compulsory internship.
Eligibility –
The candidates should have attended 17 years of age as of 31st December 2023. Candidates born on or before 2006 are eligible.
Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent Examination of a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY as subject. The candidates who have passed 10+2 level with Biology as an additional subject will also be eligible for MBBS Entrance Examination {as per Hon'ble High Court Order No.2341/-W/DHC/WRITS/D-1/2019 dated 24/09/2019 in the Writ Petition (C) No. 6773/2019).
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing at the qualifying Examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subject and expect to pass the Examination with the required percentage of marks (as indicated in SI No. 03 below) are also eligible to apply and appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination. However, their candidature will be considered only if they provide documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying Examination with the required subjects and percentage of marks.
If the institute has to consider an examination of an Indian university or of a foreign/university to be equivalent to the 12th class under. 10+2 scheme/intermediate science examination, the candidates shall have to produce a certificate from the concerned Indian university/Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination passed by him/her is considered to be equivalent to the 12Th class under 10+2 scheme/intermediate science examination.
The minimum aggregate of the marks in ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY obtained in the qualifying examination required for appearing in this examination are General and OBC candidates: 60%, SC/ST candidates: 50% & PWBD 45%. Those with CGPA grades only will have to .apply the conversion factor in the application form. The conversion factor should be approved by their respective examination board.
Overseas Citizen Of India (OCI) & Non-Resident Indians (NM) (Common to AIIMS, New Delhi) - There is no specific quota for 00 & NR1 students at AIIMS. "As per the judgment of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the Writ Petition No.891 of 2021 dated 3rd February 2023, the OCI card holder, before notification dated 04/03/2021 and those who have born before the date of the said notification, would be entitled to the rights, privileges & the benefits as has been provided to them vide notifications dated 11/04/2005 and 05/01/2009" hence all terms and conditions applicable for Indian national give in the prospectus will apply to them.
Foreign nationals (Applicable to MIMS, New Delhi only) - Foreign candidates are required to have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in the subjects of ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY in their Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination to be eligible for admission to the MBBS Course at AIIMS, New Delhi. Foreign Nationals who wish to get admitted in MBBS course at AIIMS, New Delhi, have to clear NEET.
Seats available –
AIIMS, New Delhi -
The 125 seats for Indian Nationals and 7 seats for (Foreign Nationals) are available for admission to the MBBS course. The policy of reservation of the Government of India is applied at AIIMS. The reservation roster (including 5% reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability) will be maintained by Medical Counselling Committee and shall be applied to AIIMS, New Delhi.
Reservation will be based on the following –
1. OBC
2. Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe
3. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD)
4. Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
