MCC NEET PG Round 1: Majority of toppers opt for MD Medicine, RML Delhi top choice

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) recently declared the final result of the National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) Round 1 counselling for the academic year 2025.
As per the result, most of the toppers having an AIQ rank between 1 and 10 have opted for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, formerly known as Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), New Delhi, as their preferred institute for pursuing the postgraduate medical education.
A total of 6 out of the 10 top-ranked candidates have locked their preference for pursuing the MD General Medicine degree at ABVIMS & Dr. RML Hospital.
The AIQ rank 4 holder has opted for the MD Radio-diagnosis course at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, New Delhi. Among the other 3 candidates, one has opted for Government Medical College (GMC) Kozhikode for pursuing MD General Medicine (Rank 2 holder), one has opted for MD General Medicine course at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (rank 8 holder), and the other candidate has opted for MD General Medicine Course at Madras Medical College.
Therefore, 9 out of the top 10 rank holders have opted for MD General Medicine as their chosen speciality in the first round of counselling and one candidate has chosen MD Radio-diagnosis as their chosen specialty.
The list released by MCC includes the details including rank, allotted quota, allotted Institute, course and remarks of 26889 candidates. Medical Dialogues earlier reported that MCC had announced a major update to the Round-1 seat matrix for NEET PG 2025 Counselling, including the addition and withdrawal of several postgraduate seats. Meanwhile, the choice filling was open till November 21st 2025.
